What are the best youtube shmup channels?
So glad I discovered this forum for my favorite game genre! Are there any good, active youtube and/or twitch channels these days that people are watching?
Re: What are the best youtube shmup channels?
Depends on what you're looking for.
"STG Weekly" has a good collection of episodes in which they discuss games in depth (one game per episode), and has been more active recently.
List of stream channels can be found here :

For gameplay-only, check out the Hi scores section ; some players post replays of their runs there.

Bullet Heaven gives some good, in-depth reviews for a wide variety of shmups across different platforms.

I didn't see another "shmups youtube thread" so just linking this video here.
After looking for info on Cho Ren Sha 68k for the Super Cassette Vision, I saw this video in the sidebar.
The channel; PBS Idea Channel, seems to cover various tech topics.
This episode from December 2013 considers whether bullet hell shmups can be meditative. Probably nothing to see here for most member of the forum, but I'm impressed that this video got made and is targeted toward a wider audience.

Well that's embarrassing. Yeah, I'd thought I remembered a long running youtube thread. Thanks.Shepardus wrote:http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14194
...it was even right on the first page, I swear I scanned a number of pages and even used the search for "youtube" in thread titles, that's how I ended up posting in this other thread.
