As long as the internal resolution is significantly higher, like at least 1.25x your output resolution height, then it looks pretty good in my opinion. It's not particularly useful (or dynamic), as it messes up the UI on many games (since the games think they're running at higher resolution and they often don't scale the UI appropriately), and the performance hit is still much higher than traditional multisample antialiasing.
And on a side note, GeDoSaTo gives you more upscaling options with DX9 games, and works over any sort of connection
