BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
The only nitpicky annoyances in this port for me are:
1) You can't actually move the M2 Gadgets. It's especially obnoxious because if you use the 'screen fit' hori setup the gadgets overlap the play field :/
2) The selection of gadgets in tate isn't as useful. You can't see boss timers, boss health, 'my rapid' current value, or any sort of rank info.

Is this just up on the JP store, or is it on the HK one too?

My copy of the Limited Edition came in today and this thing is just plain damn impressive. I can't wait to download it and suck at it as much as I always have!
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Impressive for $80 worth of paper.mrsmiley381 wrote:My copy of the Limited Edition came in today and this thing is just plain damn impressive. I can't wait to download it and suck at it as much as I always have!
I agree, it's nice, I bought it too, just wish there was a game disc in there for the future.

Launching with a disc in the era of day-one patches is thoroughly unnecessary.

Can you turn on Red Ball mode in this? I downloaded it. I'm a little knocked back by all the Japanese. I was just expecting English.

This speaks more to the need to minimize day-one patches than to discs being "unnecessary" to those who prefer them.Launching with a disc in the era of day-one patches is thoroughly unnecessary.
Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
I certainly don't hope that a day 1 patch is necessary for a port of a 20 year old game. (shit, Garegga is actually 20 years old :S)
Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
The disc release might happen later.

There are several different bullet modes. Keres translated the options here.evil_ash_xero wrote:Can you turn on Red Ball mode in this? I downloaded it. I'm a little knocked back by all the Japanese. I was just expecting English.
The game's already been patched once, with a second patch in the works to fix, among other things, a counterstop in the Premium Arrange mode.Sumez wrote:I certainly don't hope that a day 1 patch is necessary for a port of a 20 year old game. (shit, Garegga is actually 20 years old :S)
I'd rather see games receive fixes critical issues than see them left in a bad state or see them drown in pursuit of an unrealistic standard of perfection. Even way back when these games were being released for arcades, bugs and exploits happened, and they either got fixed through updates (see Armed Police Batrider Ver. B and Battle Bakraid Unlimited Ver.) or were left unfixed if they were minor enough or weren't discovered soon enough (see Battle Garegga and its occasional spontaneous crashes at the flamingos).bigbadboaz wrote:This speaks more to the need to minimize day-one patches than to discs being "unnecessary" to those who prefer them.Launching with a disc in the era of day-one patches is thoroughly unnecessary.

And in 5-10 years from now when I'd like to play it again and the PSN servers have long since been changed/content deleted, I'd like to have the option of playing it if it was ever removed from my hard drive at some point. Digital is great until the day you don't have access to the things you purchased.GSK wrote:Launching with a disc in the era of day-one patches is thoroughly unnecessary.

My gadgets keep disappearing. When I start a game, they are gone. If I pause the game, go to "Materials Room", then exit out back into the game, they reappear. What am I missing? I'd like to keep them on at all times.

I have this same issue as well.ATTRACTS wrote:My gadgets keep disappearing. When I start a game, they are gone. If I pause the game, go to "Materials Room", then exit out back into the game, they reappear. What am I missing? I'd like to keep them on at all times.

In Options go to the M2 Gadget tab and turn the Gadget Trigger ON, and set the Gadget Preset to 1. Seems to be staying now.

I agree, which is why I think waiting until all the patches/updates have been rolled out before printing any discs is ultimately the best course of action.ATTRACTS wrote:And in 5-10 years from now when I'd like to play it again and the PSN servers have long since been changed/content deleted, I'd like to have the option of playing it if it was ever removed from my hard drive at some point. I just wanna know that it's on the way. It seems probable. But I don't particularly like waffling between whether I should buy the downloadable version or wait.GSK wrote:I agree, which is why I think waiting until all the patches/updates have been rolled out before printing any discs is ultimately the best course of action.ATTRACTS wrote:And in 5-10 years from now when I'd like to play it again and the PSN servers have long since been changed/content deleted, I'd like to have the option of playing it if it was ever removed from my hard drive at some point. Anybody know if there's a setting for a different gadget style? I sweat I saw a video where ABC inputs had their own box with buttons that lit up when pushed, and minimalized the box where it has all the PS4 inputs. But I could be a crazy person?

Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
Any way to choose wallpapers? The grey "Arcade" isn't very fetching.

Is the Rev.2016 soundtrack available on CD? It looks like only the original arcade version is on CD.

Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
The Rev.2016 "Perfect Edition" remastered tracks are on a CD that's only available through the Premium Edition of the game. The "2016 Remix" tracks are included on the new "Battle Garegga Complete Soundtrack" that SuperSweep put out.Domino wrote:Is the Rev.2016 soundtrack available on CD? Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
Of course. I'm referring to the state of the industry wherein a 40-gig disc install is immediately followed by a 20-gig day one patch. Either finish the game to some reasonable approximation of what that word means, or don't go gold FFS.I'd rather see games receive fixes critical issues than see them left in a bad state

Seriously, are there no wallpaper options?

Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
Arrived during the week. Nice but expensive.
Question though. How do I watch replays ? On leaderboard when I press O on a score that seems to have a replay I just get an error message which I can't understand.
Also, pics I saw of the game showed all this extra info on both sides of the screen. Looked cool. But when I play I just get a plain border

Re: BATTLE GAREGGA REV.2016 (M2)
Ugh, can't believe I am doing this. I pre-order the Complete Soundtrack and the Premium Edition just for the OST and the goodies. Looks like I'm selling the PSN Card once I get my package since I already have it. >.>
Make your own TV overlay to cover the gray.evil_ash_xero wrote:Seriously, are there no wallpaper options?

Open the options menu (touchpad button), go over to "M2 Gadget" and turn "Gadget Trigger" (I think?) to on.brianon wrote:Also, pics I saw of the game showed all this extra info on both sides of the screen. Looked cool. But when I play I just get a plain border

*|Finished out how to watch replays also. Though still so much of this game / port I don't understand.
