I'm having issues seeing the bullets as well. I tend to grab a bullet, mistaking it for a smaller rose.
The bosses are insane, which is great. It actually feels like you are fighting a boss.
The title screen reminds me alot of Dimahoo for some reason and I love the weapon name voices. The title screen is a deep "eee bah rah". No damned chick voice like so many imports (sorry - it's always bugged me). Suprisingly good music too.

If you want the booklet you need to buy from someone who sources their games from Japanese distributors as opposed to Asian ones. Here is one.
I have one on the way from Yesasia, so it's doubtful that I will get the booklet.

Isn't the booklet just a reprint of the Arcadia stratagy guide from last year? If so Icarus has the scans on his wonderful site "Featheredwings.net", under the scans section. I know it's not the same thing as having the booklet in your hands, but it better than nothing, no?

Y'know, I was half-tempted to dispense with the Scans section as I haven't been keeping it up to date. Actually have all the Arcadia issues with the complete Ibara guide in it as well -_-;;
Cthulhu did a very nice translation of Arcadia's Ibara system explanation, located somewhere on my site updates thread. (It's on the 3rd page, if you're interested)
I'll probably spool that off into a fully-fledged ST guide (about the size of my Garegga ST) in the near future.
On topic: had a quick go of Arranged last night, and so far it's kind of meh. Hasn't grown on me at all, just feels like a hacked up Cave-flavoured shmup with Ibara's graphics. Haven't figured out al it's nuances yet, but there seems to be less coherency/consitency about Arranged. Might just be because I'm so used to playing Raizing-styled Ibara...
Arcade Mode is still as sexy as ever, although it feels... different... to the PCB.
Most noticeable is the fact that you spawn a lot faster after you die on the PS2 version than you do on the PCB. Not as fast as you do on Arranged, but it's close.

I asked somewhere before but didn't get an answer. Can anyone that bought the Black Label PCB comment on differences between it and arrange (other than the 1 credit). I don't recall Black Label being super easy like it sounds (although I got to level 3 the one time I played it).

Loading times in this conversion seem more painful than usual. Perhaps to be expected when Type X has around eight times the RAM of a PS2, but still...
I'd be happier with an option to turn off that opening girls portrait and voice clip altogether, like the option Shikigami No Shiro II had to skip intermissions like that. Rather than have to watch it load up for a few seconds, them load out again after displaying it, to wait again to load in the level animations.

Yeah I can't believe how kickass this Black Label mode is. I expected I'd prefer the original Raizing mode, but now I barely even think about it. Black Label's clear Rank meter, Thunderforce-esque weapons toggle system, total formation control, bombing for roses gameplay, plus clearer bullet patterns, and hitbox refinements, take this game to a whole new level of fun.sammaza wrote:Arrange mode is so cool...You are constantly changing your layouts on the fly and it never stops! You get to points where you are in massive bullet "mazes"! ...sometimes like in level 2 Boss I have to use bombs to get free...but thats when you get mad points if there are tons of Boss's bullets on the screen and you kill him at that time...Then your raking in the points...I Luv the animations on the ground (Playing on 29in Neocandy Arcade cab...), so I can een see the little cow in the field on the begining of level 2 eating grass...and how your little buddy guys spurt smoke from the rear every time they fire the flamethrowers. Its just sweet !
Favorite weapons so far are Gattling guns, missiles, and of course Flame throwers...
BTW! This game can be 1cc'd if you can master the ship configuration switching on the fly...
ex. You can switch to "back" fire mode and go to the top of the screen and clean up at certain points you have too!

then again, I'm not what you'd call an elite shmup'er (I have yet to start talking about resolution and other stuff that's supposed to make these games fun . . . ha ha ha, I kid)
so far, level 3 boss
tomorrow, I'm going to level 4, oh yeah, believe it
quick one, what's the dif between the 4 ships?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Arrange is not Black Label. I only played BL once, and didn't really pay TOO much attention, but I just remember it being a lot more furious.
There are definitely some subtle differences at least. Namely, there's a continue feature (not really that subtle actually) and the ship choice is mandatory when you start. Hopefully the PCB owners can shed some light.

Having played both now I'm pretty sure in-game they're both the same game, apart from the single credit on ps2.GaijinPunch wrote:I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Arrange is not Black Label. Also, wasn't there a way to get all 4 ships on the PCB, at least in regular Ibara?

Yes you can select 4 different types in normal Ibara, but you can't do them by button combination in the port. You have to manually go into options and change it. Type D (A+B on the PCB) 2P has the BEST bomb.
Thanks to oxtsu, but Archer posted differences between ARC/PS2. He mentiones less score potential and muddy colors?

mine arrived too today from yesasia, and yes i got the booklet with itI was wrong!! My copy from Yesasia arrived today and it includes the booklet
having played it for a couple of hours now, my first impressions are that it is a good solid port. and "arrange" mode is excellent. with this and regular ibara, it is like 2 games in one package, a "raizing" style take on the game and a "cave" one - enough to suit all tastes
yes, it is slightly blurred/filtered. no more than mushi port was tho, or espgaluda for that matter. doesnt affect gameplay at all.
ive only played the arcade Ibara once, for like half an hour or something, but the port seems 98%. ive deducted 2% for the slightly less crisp visuals. but add back 50% for the arrange/black label mode. overall score 14.8 out of 10

yes , i have and there are no problems (apart from the score being obscured at top of screen-i believe RGB fixes this tho) . and i dont know what you are getting at - why is this "bad information"?Have you ever played the PS2 version of espgaluda in tate?
This is why there is so much bad information on the internet.

Ibara doesn't got an Asian version, all the stocks from PA and YA are imported from Japan. It was said that a booklet was given for every a certain amount of copies (may be 4, 5, 6 I don't know).Geezer wrote:I was wrong!! These special gifts usually kept with the seller who first order the stock from the Japanese whole seller. The demand of Ibara in Hong Kong is not enough for most Hong Kong sellers to place a whole sale order directly from Japan. So other Hong Kong sellers each bought a few copies from the one who ordered a whole lot form Japan. Usually those special gifts could be bought from the seller whom orderd a whole lot for $2 each.
There are definately some booklets come with the stock of Ibara to Hong Kong, but really don't know who held them besides YA. May be YA is the one who ordered a whole lot.

Ibara doesn't have an Asian version in the sense of "For home use only". However, it does have an Asian distributed version. Well, that's a Hong Kong seller (Barry of www.gamechoiceclub.com) told me.icycalm wrote:So you live in Hong Kong then, or Taiwan?
That's what I got on my copy. I just haven't play attention on the sticker. It does not. The game has really long (vertical) resolution (as does ESPGaluda II) and will require adjusting on most monitors/TVs.DC906270 wrote:yes , i have and there are no problems (apart from the score being obscured at top of screen-i believe RGB fixes this tho) . and i dont know what you are getting at - why is this "bad information"?
