It does have *some* slowdown, though, as can clearly be seen from the video. MBL 1.1 has absolutely none, not even during boss explosions. It's pretty wild, like a DS Turbo Mode.
BTW Degica, dunno if this is intentional or not, but the DFK store page link on the site redirects to the Steam homepage.

The coming soon steam page isn't up yet, so that would be why it doesn't link to an actual store page. There hasn't actually been any announcement as far as I know, so I wouldn't get hopes up that it is coming on 8th. That date doesn't sound far-fetched though.

Dammit. Now I'm feeling a little down.
Don't feel down; It took us over seven years to build up to our tiny number and we can't actually figure out how to increase them.
Edit: I also remember that someone on this board called me a fool (literally) for spending a bout a grand on recording equipment and games for YouTube videos when I was starting out.

Ahhhhh, piercing criticism....
Well, it's still something.
Every few years it feels like I have to start over from the very beginning.
EDIT: Apologies to everyone for taking this thread off-topic.
Anyway. I'm doubtful about DFK's 9/8 release-date. While Degica typically releases games on Thursday, Nick just said that they're planning an international beta. Unless this beta is extremely short and everything goes swimmingly, the game won't be out in a week.

I'm guessing 9/8 is when they plan to start the beta and someone got confused and put that as the release date.

I want to play it in my cab in 15KHz/tate mode...
Ikaruga and Crimzon Clover working fine...

At first I was worrying about the short period between closed testing and release, but that looks unnecessary now! Good they have some more time to work things up to perfect, bad for more waiting tho
The newer version of Chinese Leaderboard is here! Check it out :>
Nick Palmer, do you have any comment on these videos that are cropping up?
Since the beta hasn't started yet, are they press review copies of an early build? Are folk not under an NDA?
We are currently going over our plan for review keys. An error was made in regards to a few. I, of course can't discuss details, but we are aware of the issue, and agree that these videos are not ideal for showing off the game.
Also, it is not the final build. I don't even have the final build yet as it isn't finished, so if something seems a bit off, don't worry.
All modes are included in the base game, it was confirmed here and on Twitter weeks ago and it's also on the website.

Check it out Degica and feel free to forward it to CAVE.
It is not just MBL and MBL1.1 that has missing slowdown. Been noticing Ver 1.1 has a little bit too much of it (unless this is how they really want it to play like):

I agree, but the criticism about Deathsmiles isn't a case of the perfect being the enemy of the good. I think Asada said it didn't take more than a couple of days to get a port running on X360 once they'd had a little practice, but it takes a long time to add the slowdown and get it right - with Deathsmiles PC it seems like they just skipped the second step.
That's not the point. If Cave wants to to be in the PC market they should either be prepared to meet their own lukewarm standards or expect dissatisfaction from their fanbase.
I don't know what their non-shmup releases schedule is ( ), but I suspect a lot of work is being done to pave the way for the DaiFukkatsu launch sometime this month (?).
Considering I blew a sizable chunk of cash on the shmup sales this past weekend, I don't mind a break.
I have a question that I'm not sure has been asked yet about the Steam DFK release…
When DFK was released for mobiles, in the West it came with (really quite good) English voicework. As far as I know, this was the only release to feature alternative voiceovers.
Any chance that English voicework will be making it into the Steam release at any point?
