Nobody can have a perfect track record, but these assholes suck fucking balls. Ebert was shit.

KERMODE IS SHIT. The UK's number one film critic. SHIT. Talks absolute twaddle, has done for twenty years. Knows fuck all about film, script writing or acting and gets most of everything wrong. I wanted to go over and tell him one time I saw him in NatWest bank he should stop talking about movies because he doesn't know anything about them. I refrained. Now I feel guilty, I could have inadvertently triggered a massive collapse of confidence that forced him into an alternate career path and spared us all of his terribly smug and absurdly incorrect waffle. I apologise to those very few in the human race who suffer as I do.

Here in FL, it's generally hot like that.

Shame about the lack of rain though, it's been raining like crazy here for the last few days, I keep getting worried about flooding because it floods so damn easily here [especially down closer to Ft. Lauderdale -- not so bad where I live since I'm in this nice spot between the ocean and the Everglades that doesn't get quite so much rain as the rest of south Florida, I'll see thunderstorms off in the distance and it won't rain by me at all some days].

+1 I can't stand the hot weather either, it drives me nuts. It feels as if my energy is being drained out of me. I don't think I could fully function living in a perminatly hot climate. Luckily the nights are getting darker and I have to close the bedroom windows at night because it's starting to cool down. I can't wait until the autumn, it's gonna be glorious!

I find it funny how I spent three weeks in Croatia where it's supposed to be hot, yet the heat was bearable there and accompanied with large amounts of rain (which ALSO caused mosquitoes to show up in droves. In one late night I swatted 12 flies like they were Rick Doms, I proudly never cleaned my wall after that), whereas everyone in the West is dying from the heat. And I'm not even referring to the luxury of airco I had. I hope the heat wave has passed once I get back.

AC is often overkill if you have a well-insulated house or workplace, which tends to be the case in Europe as time advances since there have been construction norms to follow for some decades.
When I lived in China I've noticed, whether it's in winter or summer, how completely unefficient homes and buildings were in that particular area.
This had people abuse of heating in winter and AC in summer, actually making things worse since the crazy demand in electricity has their dirty power plants run at full regime.
The only places where we really use AC are in old people's homes, hospitals, etc. And cars but not too much also because of the increased oil consumption and easy in-out thermal shock.
