Cassini, Giri Giri, and SSF are probably your best bets. None are perfect, but many games are playable.

SSF is pretty much 99% perfect. Miles ahead of giri giri etc. Sadly there's no highres mode for games like Saturn Bomberman so the only use for it is taking screenshots/portable Saturn via laptop, really. There's also a tate mode in the latest versions (press 0).

SSF does (or at least did -- I would assume it still does) requires MMX or something that's only available with an Intel processor. The emulator will not run on AMD.

It uses SSE2, which is available on the Athlon 64, but not the Athlon XP. It's an excellent emulator, but still a far cry from 99% perfect IMO. Saturn emulation has come a long way, but still has a long way to go.

Hell, Epsxe isn't even close to 99% perfect. You can't expect that much from SSF, as good as it is.

Maybe that's a little high...the control is pretty laggy. However all the stuff I've run has been near 100%, only problem is 'generated' sounds/music on games like Zero 3 which don't use CDDA. All graphics, etc. intact. However the latest versions say SCSP is at 100%, I was assuming it was cause I only have 2.8 ghz that I'm having problems.

Though I'm (obviously) a non expert, please tell me if I'm talking out of my ass here.

XP Pro SP2.
1.4Ghz laptop.

The reason I mention SSF is because that is what I had to use to get Blast Wind working correctly. Both Giri Giri and Cassini (probably because Cassini is just a hack of Giri Giri) leave artifacts. Namely traces of the player's ship and some shots. Makes the game unplayable.

It's gonna be a while folks.

Oh....that 99% that keeps getting mentioned is probably the emulation of the main CPU's.

Errr.....SSF works just fine for me. It's Cassini and Giri Giri that were giving me troubles. Either way it's not too much of an issue, since I'm done with Blast Wind, and the only other reason to use any Saturn emu's is for Guardian Force...which everything runs.

There is a new emulator still in its early stages called SaturnTV.

There no release yet, but the screenshots are VERY promising.

Saturn emulation's buggy. Just get a Saturn. Everyone who plays shooters should have a Saturn. :(

If I had a nickel for every emulator that started, looked promising, but never got to an acceptable level.... I would have a shitload of nickels.

And then you could go for the world record in nickel eating. ...or go blind.

Family Guy rules. :( About the Saturn though, just grab a modboard somewhere. They're not too expensive, and they're easy to install. Helps if you have a 21 pin model 2 (round button) Saturn. Or you could just swap trick it.

Hmm, it should. I mentioned it's an alternative, but I wouldn't recommend doing it. It's really bad for your system. (would be a shame to wreck that nice JP unit) :(
