I think I could have beaten the second stage boss if I hadn't gotten up to pee before my last two credits. Peeing messed up my rhythm.
I hadn't been super interested in any Cave game just watching footage before (hadn't played any) but I think this made me a convert. I love that you have to really aggressively deal with threats or get overwhelmed and the patterns are really interesting. I watched the STGW episode when I got back to the states and immediately saw how much less hectic it was because they were killing things so much more efficiently.
I did a little dance in my chair every time the first stage started up, that tune is so catchy.
Arcade Street is awesome, definitely go if you're ever in the area.

I'm not sure how it's unfair to rag on a guy that brags about getting to stage 2 in a game where many people here have looped it.

If the op is being serious- congrats dude! Everybody starts somewhere. It's always neat to have a high score in a place like that.

Granted- it says something either about the save battery or competition as others have pointed out- I still think it's pretty cool.

Hang in there dude, see if you can clear that mofo.

Yeah the machine was on the default highscores. Not a lot of people playing/just recently brought out I guess. I don't think I'm at the skill level yet where I could earnestly try to clear it without getting frustrated but I'm definitely gonna play a credit or two in mame now and again. I do a run of Crimzon Clover novice once every three months barely short of clearing and then just forget to pick it up again so I need to play that every day for a week or something. Then maybe work on some of the steam shmups I've bought and barely played. I lost interest for a bit but this has gotten me interested in getting good at stg again.

The arcade Ketsui doesn't save scores, so you were likely the only one who had played it that day (assuming they don't leave the machine on 24/7).
