I'm looking forward to the old Gamest/Arcadia archives too. I like seeing all of the records that guys like ISO, Yusemi, and TAC used to hold. (ISO in particular is just unreal.)
Exactly my feelings too. Too bad it's gonna be quite a while before we get an update on the archives I think. But you never know, maybe they'll pick up the pace.

Regarding the DonPachi WR: I can't say anything about that run since I don't know anything about the game, but for what it's worth I have watched the Dragon Saber WR run on the same channel (I'm going to assume it's also the same player?) and that one looks perfectly fine. Every action the player performs makes sense and I definitely would've assumed it was a real run. He gets lucky with the contents of the eggs and thus earns a lot of extra lives, but that's simply how the "scoring" in this game works, unfortunately, every WR run will need a good RNG.

I once more got a game to add!

Dragon Saber score is better when compared with the Gamest top score, but is not played on real arcade version but played n PSX port version, so is not comparable.

The reputation of this player is strongly compromised in the Japanese scene, I read tons of comments from other japanese players in BB boards, and the defense of BGR-44 is very weak.... the behavior of BGR is suspicion in many occasions, with constant admissions and retreatment about his work. Almost all replay are played in emulators and the original inp files are never published. For these reasons, for me this player is a sure 100% cheater. Him have the usually "top japan knowledge" about pattern, advanced strategies etc. but however cheater. I delete from my database also R-Type Leo no autofire score.

A couple more SDOJ scores I jotted down at Hey the other day:

A-E
(anon) - 2,704,304,648,876 -5-Inbachi (possibly had a larger score at another cab that got buried by ALL/ALL-Ex scores)

B-E
PEK - 4,722,419,817,926 - no TLB ALL
PEK - 4,696,066,535,024 - 5-Hibachi

The other scores seem up to date, though I see you haven't incorporated the recent JHA batch. ZAP actually had a 3.8 bil C-E Hibachi score on one of the cabs, I wonder where he got the 4.7 bil one...

If you want me to check out any other cabs' scoreboards while I'm in Tokyo, you have a couple more days for that.

EDIT: Also, Darurun's current record for Futari BL Original is 4,338,985,159. Forgot to check if it's an ALL, but it would seem extremely unlikely for him to get such a huge score otherwise (dying, let alone repeatedly, is crazy expensive in this mode after all).

Not to shit on Saucy's scores but shouldn't his Raiden 1 score be disqualified since he isn't playing the Japanese version? I know he's the best player on the forum for that game, but I don't think you can compare his scores 1 to 1 with the Japanese score since they are using checkpoints and he didn't.

Godlike. SPS will probably have to start trying to 2-miss Hibachi if he wants to beat that.

I wonder what HFD's reaction to this will be. Has that guy ever not been the WR holder of DOJ before?

Does anyone have any additional details to this new WR?

HFD holds both DOJ BL records and the DOJ WL A-type record, but SPS had the record for B-type. He's still pretty active on this game, so it'll be interesting to see if he comes back with something.

fufufu posted some notes on his new score compared to his last:

- more points from using the laser aura up to 2-4
- chained 2-3 (+25,000,000)
- improved 2-5 chain from 3079 to 3177 (509,000,000 to 533,000,000)
- 2 deaths on Hibachi instead of 3

His 1-5 was low so he didn't get 2.23 billion, plus he didn't match his best 2-5 chain (3215).

Unfortunately, Gamest/Arcadia/JHA prioritizes clears over scores, so fufufu retains the crown, at least in Japan.

In my opinion, we have a new champion.

Earlier today Darurun has achieved a 4.23 billion clear on Matmouse Arcade's stream: VOD (credit starts 28 minutes in), YT mirror.

It's merely 100 mil below his best, and by far the best BL Original Palm run available online (despite the three deaths) in terms of scoring and aggressiveness. His route potentially allows for at least 4.5–4.6 billion (probably a lot higher) on a no-miss run.

(I also saw him play the game live while in Tokyo, and one would never guess he was a superplayer just from his looks...)

I also thought he would have chained both, or at least one, of the stage 3s. SPS chains 1-3 and fufufu said he didn't break the 2-3 combo (at least if I read correctly). I guess he just meant the two halves weren't broken. In his comments he mentions that this was the first time he fully chained the game.

I don't think SPS posted his WR replay, but he got 924 million in the first loop (fufufu had 875) and his max chain was 3500 (fufufu's was 3488). I have a 1.9 billion run of SPS's so it might be worth going through to see where fufufu got the extra points. The 180 million clear bonus seems to have helped.

fufufu scores 50~ million less in the first loop because he doesn't chain 1-3 or do the 1-4 boss timeout for extra hits. He makes up for it with a better 2-5 (IIRC) and only two deaths on Hibachi. I wonder how consistent he is with Hibachi, though. The three death strategy is very reliable, but I think two is a gamble.

The routes are pretty much identical outside the 1-3,1-4 section (which puts SPS roughly 45M in the lead. Chaining 1-3 is worth more extra than that but he loses some of the 1-4 hypers people stockpile in the standard route and that evens it up a lot) and 2-5 (fufufu's hyper route is a lot riskier but is worth about 50M more). Then 50M more from the extra life.
