This safe spot is known for years. But since you have probably found it out yourself, you are also familiar with the problem: it works only for type B.

How many points did it lose not killing the boss though? Or could you still kill the boss from there?

You cannot kill the boss and lose 500k due to it. This is not a lot though. It's better to save that one bomb for the loop.
