Me personally tries to fire using three fingers, so if it's z,x,c on your keyboard so every finger presses every key and it's like zxczxczxczxczxc... This reminds me some of guitar playing techniques. Same should apply for arcade controllers, so only game pads are out of luck.

In situations when only first button is fire and you need to do it fast... I find it faster if you move your whole arm (or should I say part from elbow?) instead of just finger

Yeah, alternating buttons is the key to a good chain shot. Do it manually, autofire is a crutch! It will hurt for a bit, but after a while your arm will get used to it and you will no longer feel searing pain in your forearm.

When I used alternating buttons for X-Multiply it didn't hurt at first but got increasingly painful the more I played the game, to the point where I could only play one or two credits a day. I'm in no rush to do it again, though I will say that it is an effective method for achieving a high firerate manually.

Lucky you.
When I play Darius Gaiden, I mash so fast that my hand hurts during the third stage. Fortunately my run doesn't last more than 15 minutes, if you know what I mean.

Autofire is god bless sometimes, and sometimes it's fun to torture your fingers, that's it.

MINUS ZERO is now live, and you can get it for MINUS 25% it's normal cost. That means you can get this great abstract experimental game by Triangle Service for just a dollar and a half! It's hard to even get a 20oz soda for that nowadays, and at that price, can you really pass up a unique, fun shooter?

Wait, what? I was thinking that they'd all be five dollars, but then again, I've never seen anything of these games before. I'd guess TriZEAL and ExZEAL will be the biggest games of the bunch, and cost more. Anyway, gonna try out Minus Zero now!

Also dear god the mashing... aaaagh to heck with it!

Trizeal Remix confirmed for Steam, eh? Can't wait. I'm only familiar with the Dreamcast port of the original, though. What are the major differences? (I believe you can play as the XII Stag ship, which sounds cool, but I'm thinking more in terms of stage design, scoring, any changes to the soundtrack, etc...)

Changes in Remix are actually hardly noticeable, and you could already play as the XIIStag ships in the Dreamcast port of the original game.

I like all four games, but honestly, TRIZEAL Remix is probably my favorite of the four.

It reminds me of a lot of playing Raiden II in the arcades when I was a kid, but with more interesting decisions because of the transform system allowing you to switch between different weapons at will.

Cheers, Herr Schatten! I liked the simple medalling of the original version. Thought Remix might have toyed with it somewhat...

Well, supposedly, this week is when Trizeal Remix comes out. The question is, will it be $11.99 like the other "zeal" games thus far, or will the price get jacked up to $14.99/$19.99? Let's watch!

The major differences were that many bullets had a bright glow added to them and that the DA-DA-DA shot is ridiculously over-powered (bosses are much easier to kill as a result).

As others have stated. the XII Stag ship being playable is an option in every version of the game (NAOMI, DC, XBOX 360).

Ok, so for comparison because I've been doing a lot of level 1 TRIZEAL Remix score attack on Very Hard. What is considered a good score for that?

I got a 480kish score earlier, though I know I left points on the table (I used a bomb twice when it wasn't necessary, I accidentally dodged the 10k medal for getting passed the serpent things, and I didn't get the UFO secret bonus)

Ah, I'm absolutely loving this. Always thought it was underappreciated (stripped-down and spartan as it may be), and wish I'd spent more time with my DC copy. Managed to place 3rd in the competition, and fully expect to have already lost this position. :P

Edit: thanks, Kiken! I thought some enemy placements might have been unique to Remix, but I've just forgotten a lot of the game. The dragons you can trigger at the end of the first stage came as a surprise, as well as one big fixed turret in the second...

Auto-Fire is glitchy as hell in this port of Trizeal Remix. More often than not, the button simply won't register at the beginning of stages, or after respawning, or after a bomb is released. It seems you have to press Transform at least once in order for the auto-fire to function again.

The DA-DA-DA shot is still stupidly strong.

So I'm not the only one this is happening to? That's good, since I was beginning to think my controller was being weird.

Gotta say, I'm liking TriZEAL more than Minus Zero. I guess I just prefer games with more meat on their bones.

How do you do the da-da-da shot? Also, how do you unlock the hidden ship, does the code in the strategy thread not work here?

You perform that shot by transforming rapidly (or holding the auto-trans button). The code to unlock the XIIStag ship definitely works - just make sure you're not tapping the autofire button instead of fire, if you've switched them around, as I was the first ten times. :P

Of course, the code starts working now, after I made myself look like a dummy... >.< And that's it, just firing while constantly transforming? It sounded like something a bit more special.

Oh, and I think I found a bug. You can have the laser fire with the other weapons when it's only level three, by using the rapid transform button. Doesn't work with the normal transform button.

I haven't run into that issue myself. Can I get some specs on your builds?

And yeah, Da da da shot is super powerful, though it's really only useful in a few areas, since it doesn't have the precision needed for high scoring medals.

Um, why?

I ask not because I'm actually (and surprisingly) in first, but because the game still comes out tomorrow according to the Steam page, and that deadline puts the contest end after the 20% launch discount expires on July 21.

The Steam announcement for the contest was not sent out on time, which meant some people didn't hear about it until today.

We felt it was unfair to the people who just heard about it today to end it tomorrow. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you are in first now, I fully expect you will still be in first in a week honestly. But if you do purchase EXZEAL before the end of the competition, I'm sure we can figure out something else for your prize.

Thank you so much for bringing Trizeal to steam. Leaderboards work seamlessly and feature replays for each one. So much easier than copying a code from my dreamcast and entering it to a webpage. Imagine how hard this was while wearing a Shooting Love bandana over my face!

I can understand that. However, wouldn't July 20 make more sense for the contest's end date? It still gives everyone a week to participate from today, and those who don't place in the top three of the contest could then still take advantage of the launch discount before it ends on July 21.
