Right, I didn't mention that one - Namco releases these packs so fast it's hard to keep up! But I've seen that it's coming to europe as well - might be finally a good change to grab Galaga '88 :D

edit: huh, Digital Eclipse pack with 14 games I already own on the original museums? Maybe I'll skip this one. :?

I also didn't know Xevious was released in Japan on CD for PC.

Functions include Z and X for bombs and shots, F2 for inserting a coin, F10 for pause, F11 for screen size, F12 to mute/unmute, F3 for 1 plarer, F4 for 2 player, F9 to reset. It even opens up like the arcade with rom checks, just not sure this is an official version as I see no info for it.

Edit: Perhaps it is officila as F1 brings you to a webpage about the game (written in Japanese of course). Sorry about the pics small size as well.

The checkpoint system in Xevious is probably the best one in any game that uses them. Border Down reprised this more recently- if you clear about 3/4 of the section and die, you move on to the next one.

Xevious is one game that the Sega Master System could probably have done well. The NES one wasn't too bad. In the 7800 one, the Solvalou looks a little too large in comparison to the screen.

Regarding Namco Museum, we need all the games from 1-5 and Encore with Galaga '88 and the six Namco Classics Vol. 1 & 2 Arrangement titles added- on a single disc. I'd like to see a Xbox 360 version this time, since that one could easily sidestep the interlacing problems found in NM for PS2.

Turrican- Good Xevious page. :)
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Yes, most definitely - it's a shame that I happen to think that for a lot of SMS-games-that-were-never-to-be.

Oh, and please next time add Rolling Thunder 2.

Thanks - have you heard the latest Xevious news? they must be viewed to believe them. Basically Japan is getting Namco Museum 2 for PSP, and it will have Xevious (which the west already got), but with a couple of bonus features: the rumored 46th SOL tower (that wasn't in the original) and... a fake "screen burning": the original used to burn the screen because of it's persistent red logo which was shown during attract mode...

Funny, a retrocollection where even the bonus features feel retro!

Rolling Thunder 2, as well as Phelios & Burning Force would be nice for a future NM. I see the Japanese PSP NM2 has all the extra games from the US version of the first one, so I think I'll be waiting for that.

With regard to the Pac-Man Arrangement, I'd like to see them port over the Namco Classics original version. I think the Galaga Arrangement in NM-PSP is way too easy.

I see Dig Dug II finally got added to a Namco pack, it sure took them long enough to bring it out. It should've been included with 50th Anniversary Museum to begin with, even if the game is a departure from the original (and a damned fun game to boot).

Coupled with the fact Dig Dug II only ever saw one home version, and that was on NES long ago.

You can unlock the 46th Sol and screen burn on the US release of Namco Museum Battle collection. I seemed to unlock it after clearing a certain amount of areas. I can take a picture if you'd like. It is unlocked as extra options under Maniac Options.

Cool. Good to see that we got extra too for once. ^_^ If the japanese site is right, the burn is unlocked when you reach area 3 and the 46 SOL when you reach area 9 / is located in area 9.
