psp UMD Region question

is it the same as dvds?

usa - region 1
japan - region 2
etc
etc

edit: any utilitlies that will let me load a UMD outside of its assigned region?
I have no sig whatsoever.

I believe it's the same as DVDs,and to answer your question,there aren't any region-free programs for the UMD,yet.

UMD games aren't region coded,so a region-free program would be pretty much useless,unless UMD pr0nage is your top priority...:lol:

UMD pr0nage is one of my priorities. I have a few useless UMDs right now (or a useless PSP, for another way of looking at it)

Hell n0, keeping them around gives me an excuse to buy a Japanese PSP eventually... A dedicated pr0n PSP, hahaha...

Will Japanese R2 UMD videos work on a EU PSP? I mean, R2 playability is the more important thing, but if Japanese PSPs still cost more, I don't know if having O button advance and X button cancel is worth it..

I own two PSPs.

A black 1.50 US system and a CW 2.50 JPN system.

Best of both worlds.
