XRGB-mini Framemeister
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I have been playing with 1080p settings for Sega Saturn and Atari Jaguar. Attached are profiles with correct scanlines. They are thin though.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone could post a profile, or had good settings for the NeoGeo AES?
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I got it down to about 29ms by disabling everything and turning on Graphics mode. Close to 2 frames but still pretty damn good.Xyga wrote:The W600B series lacked the extra low lag though, being rather around 2 frames, but yeah it managed to destroy most of the same-level competition and still dpes today, I can't believe how shitty the full-hd segment has become.
The W7 was the perfect compromise, although I remember it wasn't available everywhere unfortunately.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Well I picked up my KDL50W800B TV. I'm excited to have it but it's not even set up yet. I didn't realize this TV wasn't VESA compliant so I can't use my wall mount right out of the box.
Sony is "gracious" enough to sell you a VESA adapter (http://www.abt.com/product/78821/Sony-448584401.html) but it's stupid hard to find. I found a listing on the Sears parts department under the same product code that I'm hoping is what I'm actually looking for. Didn't expect this TV to be the hassle it's been! Hopefully it's worth it lol.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I got mine from retro_console-accessories on ebay. If her store is down, wait 1-3 days and it will almost always be back up.brentsg wrote:Hey folks.. Considering digging out the Dreamcast for some fun soon.
I am under the assumption that the Toro to my Framemeister is still the way to go. Is there a good USA based source for the EU SCART to Framemeister adapter/cable?
Thanks
B
Be warned the Framemeister will add false contouring, so finding a VGA CRT monitor is still the better way to go for Dreamcast.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I have a Dreamcast on the way which I would like to connect to a Framemeister (obviously
) - is it worth to go through the hassle to use the VGA connection or considering everything 15khz RGB will suffice?
Thanks!

Thanks!
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
absolutely. Native 480p is always a superior source. If you already got a standard VGA box you can get an additional sync converter (any of the Extron interfaces) to get from RGBHV to RGBs.
depending your TV's scaling capabilities, a direct connection (in 480p) to your display might look better than running through the FM. What TV do you use ?I would like to connect to a Framemeister (obviously)

I've been working more on Sega Saturn settings. I really like what I've worked out. Screen proportions are pretty accurate. Scan lines are very nice.
Two profiles are attached. The "A" profile has thinner scanlines than "B."
I really like the "A profile.

XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I just got my second framemeister after selling all my CRT to save space
I am having major problems with my dc via toro box that I never had with my old framemeister
I tend keep my fm on default auto scale, 720p 60hz and sharpness 1, pce gen snes saturn n64 all look razor sharp enough for my liking but my dreamcast is looking a mess no matter what settings I use.
I used to have it set to vga running in the same way and it was spot on, now I have a new framemeister no matter if I choose vga or rgb it all looks a mess. Text is offset and smudgy and very unclear looking. In fact rgb looks better than vga at the moment.
I have tried different picture modes, resolutions h/v scaling, everything.
I have my tv set to game mode with all processing off
I'll get some pictures later which hopefully should illustrate what I mean
Previously it behaved the same as all my other machines
:/

Anyone has a good profile for PC Engine @ 1080p? (with scanlines)

Rayik made a pretty good PCE/TG16 profile

By the way, was wondering that the Neo Geo does not output exactly @ 60hz. How does Framemeister compensate for this? Will there be "skipping" in scrolling in games?

No idea, i will get my MVS anytime soon. Hopefully the FM will handle it correctly, will report backEverblue wrote:Ooooh lol didn't see it, thanks!axlblazeadam wrote:Look 3 posts up, in the signature areaEverblue wrote:Anyone has a good profile for PC Engine @ 1080p? (with scanlines)

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
with enabled v-sync the FM will pass the refresh rate, but most TVs will re-convert this to something closer to 60Hz on their end.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Damn, my JP21 to d-terminal cable somehow has gottrn wonky, as I get a heavy distortion through it on all consoles. Thing is I can't find any for sale anywhere! Anyone know where I could get a replacement?
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Should this be ok with PC monitors too? I was thinking of purchasing a PC gaming monitor to use with my framemesiter, with the following specs:Fudoh wrote:with enabled v-sync the FM will pass the refresh rate, but most TVs will re-convert this to something closer to 60Hz on their end.
- 1 or 2ms refresh rate
- rotating (for tate games)
- HDMI and inbuilt speakers
Also, feel free to suggest monitors

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
if you want to rotate your screen, get an IPS panel, not a TN one.
Yes, most PC monitors will have to convert the MVS' 59.15Hz as well, which results in a little stutter.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Why does it make a difference? Just curiousFudoh wrote:if you want to rotate your screen, get an IPS panel, not a TN one.

So what is the best for stutter free scrolling? For example in some monitor specs I notice that these quote 55hz to 60hz.Fudoh wrote:Yes, most PC monitors will have to convert the MVS' 59.15Hz as well, which results in a little stutter.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
IPS got better viewing angles than TN. TN displays tend to invert the image when you move your head above of the image. In tate this becomes an even bigger problem.
that's just the sync range, not what actually gets displayed without any framerate conversion. For an "off-spec" system as the MVS you really have to try before you can find a display that will display its refresh rate natively and without conversion. So what is the best for stutter free scrolling? For example in some monitor specs I notice that these quote 55hz to 60hz.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Thanks! I would assume AES has the same "issue" =)Fudoh wrote:IPS got better viewing angles than TN. TN displays tend to invert the image when you move your head above of the image. In tate this becomes an even bigger problem.

Hmmmm PAL TVs go down to 50hz to support PAL. I wonder if that means they can display anything between 50 and 60hz natively.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
AES is closer to NTSC specs, so chances are better with that.
no, definitely not.Hmmmm PAL TVs go down to 50hz to support PAL. I wonder if that means they can display anything between 50 and 60hz natively.

Now, waiting for Mr Postman to deliver my CYSNC Scart adapter for the FM.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
I guess I better invest in a multi-scart adapter for the framemeister. I do have one but it does output some audio hum and picture quality is not great (this comes in a metal box). Can someone suggest me something better? Thanks!

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Question about Genesis 1 with mini.
Was working perfectly using rgb scart cable with audio in from the stereo jack. Cable was from retrogamingcable. I have multiple systems. I disconnected the rgb scart from one and plugged in the Genesis 1 rgb scart cable into mini adapter. Did not realize the Genesis 1 was on. Loud pop sound. Now I get a loud audio hum from the Genesis 1 through rgb input into the mini. The Genesis 1 headphone volume controls the loudness of the hum.
Thought I might have damaged the rgb scart cable. Got a new Genesis 1 scart cable with audio in from retro_console_accessories. Still have same hum problem.
The mini is not damaged. All other systems work fine through the mini rgb input with no hum.
Any suggestions as to what was damaged on the Genesis 1 so I can fix it. Thank you.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Do you get any other audio through it or just the loud hum? Have you tried plugging headphones into the Genesis 1 headphone jack? Just to make sure the issue is with the system and not the Mini. I just checked and audio for mono is transmitted on the Audio L pin on the scart connector. I guess just make sure other systems are outputting sound on the left side through the mini.
Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
It's something with the Genesis 1. Mini has stereo sound no hum with all other consoles I connect.
I'll follow up in Genesis forums.

Re: XRGB-mini Framemeister (now available !)
Has anyone put together a profile to correct the wider aspect ratio of a super gameboy?
It seems like this should be possible with zoom setting but I'm not sure, and currently don't have one. Just weighing my options for gb games on my mini (i am fully aware of gbi and the gameboy player, but that would be a higher cost to me).
