Why not a patch? Practice Mode shouldn't be hidden behind a DLC.

Just downloaded 1.03 for the Vita physical copy. Ranking was added to the front page selection, but ::sigh:: still no language option. I know, I know...I don't have much right to complain, but still, you'd think it'd be easy, since it already exists on another platform or two.

Just wanted to let you folks know that the new patch is out is all.

Yeah the DLC part was a joke.
The absence of a practice mode for Arcade mode has been the biggest complaint of this port since day 1 of release.
Mainly because a port of an arcade game without any sort of practice mode is just completely absurd.

Opa-Opa and Space Harrier in Dariusburst. This game is seriously the Project X Zone of shmups. Who's next? Kogoro Tenzai and Mii Koryuji? Reiji Arisu and Xiaomu?

Global timezones range from (UTC−12) to (UTC+14).
NickPalmerDegica wrote:The reason being our home office is in Japan, and if we did our release dates on Friday, they wouldn't even be in the office as it would be Saturday
Tokyo is (UTC+9; no DST). So for example:
2016-03-18 08:00-17:00 (UTC+9; Tokyo) => 2016-03-17 23:00 - 2016-03-18 12:00 (UTC; GMT))

That should give you a baseline when it might be reasonable to expect something (at the time of your post it was 2016-03-17 21:27 in Tokyo).

They will be going up at either 3p or 6p PST. I know it was one of those, but give me a minute to dig through meeting notes and I can get a definite time (or for the person who is doing the pushing out on steam to be on, in which case I can just ask them.)

I'll be picking up the DLC on PS4. Out of curiosity, any new trophies? I'm not assuming there will be, given the apparent limited scope of the content.

That is a very good question, and at this point by the time I was able to figure out for you (everyone is out of the office in Japan), you will know for yourself aha.

Is there any chance of DB getting a GOG release? I'd love to buy the game but I really don't like buying virtual copies of games tied to corporate system with DRM (not trolling!).

The three Taito DLCs are now live

http://store.steampowered.com/app/428601/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/428600/
http://store.steampowered.com/app/428602/

There will also be a bundle soon, so if you want all three, wait a bit. It was supposed to go up all at the same time, but Steam is being a bit wonky and not pushing it because, well. Steam. I expect it to be up very shortly. UPDATE: Here is the link for the bundle: http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/258 For some reason its not showing up in the DBCS store page, because once again. Steam (its a new system they have for autopackaging. So far, my impression is not positive).

Also, the dates for the Sega DLCs are now announced: April 7th. Space Harrier, Galaxy Force II, and Fantasy Zone

Awesome!

I'll be picking them up as soon as the pack is up on Steam (for now, I only see the 3 separate DLCs).

I'm really looking forward to play all 6 DLCs. :D

Can you share any hints if any more content will follow the release of the SEGA DLCs, or will that mark the "end" of the game, DLC and content-wise?

At this time, I can't really announce anything else (take that for what you will, either we have something and I'm not allowed to talk about yet (either because Degica or the dev isn't ready for me to), or we have nothing, or we have something and I don't even know about it yet). Sometimes being the voice of the company is fun! Though I am going to push to see if we can get a Practice Mode update (not DLC, like, just an update. I agree on that being a need).

Here's the kicker with the DLC:

You can now pick from a selection of CS stages ("CS Pack 1") and rank in with any ship, it seems. The catch is that your powerups are still preset.

Can't wait to see which ship ends up dominating the leaderboards, lel.

Picked up the DLC, but it's been crash city. I don't know if it was OBS or the game, but I get frequent crashes during boss explosions and randomly in the DLC menu.

I've had at least six crashes in the last hour.

If you are using Windows 10 it's because you have the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service on.

Type "SERVICE" in the "Ask me anything" pane. Then right click Service.msc and run as Administrator.

Go to the aforementioned service, right click and go to properties. Click stop under Service status and for the Start up type select Disabled. It should get rid of the crashes you have every 15 minutes.

This also works with any other game you've been having crashes with such as SFV and Naruto. Usually it occurs with people who have touchscreen monitors/laptops.

If I'm right about what you're saying, it'd probably be better to just run

taskkill /f /im tabtip.exe
taskkill /f /im tabtip32.exe

every time I want to play the game rather than risk losing certain functionality. I already have to do this with PSO2, so I'm not surprised-- but that was more of a GameGuard issue there. I guess they have some new anticheat in place?

Night Striker Stage C has one of the new bosses: Double Claw. Kinda like Twin Claw, but with more bursts.

Night Striker itself is an interesting ship. Its shield works like a counterburst wrapped around your ship, so you can fly into anything that was nullified by a counter, and it will even recharge the shield. There's a slight delay before the shield goes up, so it's easy to get careless and lose shield points. Its main shot does decent damage, but if you want to get anywhere with Night Striker, you have to learn how to maximize the rocket spam.

As for Ray Force, the beam spam is incredibly satisfying when you have shoals. Scoring is trickier, though. If you hold down the burst button, Ray Force will spam green beams and obliterate almost anything in its path, but scoring-wise you want to use the normal lock-on/release mode. From what I've played, it seems you need to do a mix of both - weaken an enemy with green beams and main shot and then finish off with red beams. The fact that you need to be close to enemies to even be able to use the beams will make some staple fights trickier. Also, the reticule doesn't actually move beyond the edge of the screen, so some enemies that you can hit with main shot may be untargetable. And the reticule grows larger with green spam, making it easier to use.

I haven't given Inter Gray a spin.

So far, I'm enjoying the DLC. Stages and bosses I thought I had figured out turn out to be difficult again. And here I thought I'd be able to finally move on to something else once I clear CS mode. Best purchase in recent years for me.

Double Claw's not a new boss, it previously appeared in the secret 186th mission in CS mode.

Nope, It's 10 new missions and 3 new individual boss ones.

New missions seem cool though, I quickly tried the last Defense type one and it's a lot harder than the ones in CS mode (brand new enemy layouts as usual for defense)

It takes a while to clear the board in CS mode... Which means this boss appears exactly once? Kinda lame.

Inter Gray is the NS ship. I think you mean the Metal Black ship.

I've probably got them confused. I've only used X-Lay and the ship from Metal Black.

I gave the Metal Black DLC a go last night. It did a good job giving me the Metal Black feels with the music, ship, and power ups. Like the main game, the levels don't have a lot of detail in them. So far I haven't seen any new enemies or bosses in this pack which is disappointing but not really that surprising. This pack comes with a lot of new level arrangements (using the same old assets) but overall I feel like it was worth the $5
