It's not obscure, and not a doujin
But it's interesting to see how shmuppers play it.

Really nice Final Boss play, Ebbo! Cool to see it get some work even before the full version is out.
Also that Futari Ultra run was especially worth watching for the super edgy, risky Stage 1.

1-ALL of Dragon Blaze with Rob
I no-miss no-bombed the first 5 stages so it might come in handy if you're trying to get a 1-ALL yourself. Bomb-spammed through the last two stages because those stages are hard, I haven't learned them properly, and I didn't want to lose any of the bombs I had stocked up.

Espgaluda II 360 mode - 486,875,753
I finally got a capture card and was able to record my last Espgaluda II run. There were lots of dumb small mistakes here and there due to lack of muscle memory - I should be able to hit 500 million easy if I work on my consistency.

Posting this awesome DOJ WL TAS I found. It's about ~450 mil over the world record.

I can't get over how he could have gotten a few extra points by using that hyper at the end and driving up the hit counter

@azzi5way on Twitter's been going in hard on Ketsui Arrange at Try, put up a video today of a 214m ALL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d1rdlb9q1E
Stays at max rank most of the game, no deaths until second half of stage 5. Actually found a good use for the rolling option formation

I'm pretty surprised someone likes it enough to score attack it. But it's a good feel

Re: General youtube shmup thread.
Still playing Dragon Blaze. This is my best run so far and I'm overall quite pleased with it, so I thought I may as well upload it since I haven't uploaded anything to YouTube in a while. From here I probably need to learn the second loop to make meaningful progress.
Also if Twitch highlights are fine here, here's an earlier 1-ALL with Ian, and here's my first and only 1-ALL with Quaid. (I haven't uploaded my first 1-ALL with Ian or my Sonia 1-ALL except as input files on Restart Syndrome).
As a little bonus here's an Advanced Course counterstop on the non-Unlimited version of Battle Bakraid I did while streaming a while ago.

Re: General youtube shmup thread.
Although i'm not at the video guys level i've recently started playing 1.7 for score and the clear to (currently at 150mill). It's a great game imo i'm surprised more people haven't been attacking it for score tbh.trap15 wrote:I'm pretty surprised someone likes it enough to score attack it. But it's a good feel

It's a different bomb timing that allows for there to be much wider vanes to dodge through compared to the usual 4 miss survival strat.Chaos Phoenixma wrote:what's the strat? It just looks like be good at dodging to me.

Re: General youtube shmup thread.
The idea is to manipulate the pattern into something you can consistently dodge. This is done by bombing at a fairly specific time and positioning yourself under it so that the bullet source goes straight down.
If you bomb too early you'll get a load of stray bullets that will be difficult to dodge, if you bomb too late the manipulation won't work and you'll get a horrible mess.

Jaimers' Mushi Ultra video got embedded in a Guardian article:
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2 ... f-all-time
The article also mentions Garegga. One of the authors' names is familiar but I can't remember why. He does a lot of gaming writing for The Guardian, though. (" Why Kanye West is right to recommend the TurboGrafx-16")
