Raiden V for Xbox One in 2015

They must have some sort of exclusive contract in place for Xbox One, that's the only thing that would make any sense.

• Right now H2 Interactive still has Caladrius Blaze PS4/Steam on their plate.
• To give at least a minimal illusion of Xbox One exclusivity on MOSS's behalf, I don't expect H2 Interactive to leak a Raiden V PS4/PC port announcement until around May 2016.

Well, uhh. I am a Raiden fan. And I was very disappointed in what I saw. So take that as you will. The series generally prides (or at least used to) on its attention to details and clever stage design. Neither of which I saw.

Maybe they were playing on an easier difficulty, which explains the lack of bullets. Also, how was the music and character design? Is what you saw enough to make me cancel my pre order?

Literally couldn't hear the game over squeaky stream host girl. Character design wasn't appalling, but quite far from good. They probably were playing on easy, but that's pretty bad form to try to get people excited about the game...

About the difficulty, they probably should've played on normal, because showing off a hard difficulty will just turn people away if they are dying constantly as well. But is it really that bad that I should cancel my pre order? I really want the soundtrack though...

Well, I'll probably double dip once it comes to PS4, but for now I can just play it at my friend's house next door. I'm just stoked to get the soundtrack with it, and this is the first thing I've bought from Japan, so I don't mind too much. Thanks for trying to get the footage though, it's much appreciated!

I meant more on the disappointment end of things.

I own an original Raiden pcb and love that game. Hard as balls in the loops. Raiden DX is also great although I no longer own it.

Raiden III sucked and Raiden IV was alright imo. I didn't have much faith in this so i wasnt surprised by this, was what I meant. In all honesty I thought this would be vapor ware so I am still glad it's coming out.

Since I had to watch through the whole thing, I guess I've got more to say. Some of the backgrounds are ok, but everything feels really static and dead. The core game seems to be the exact same as Raiden 4, except instead of horizontal panning they just made the screen wider.

When the guy plays it's on normal, then they put it on very easy for the screeching harpy on the right.

Looks kind of dull, but there's lots of extra crap that should keep more casual players busy.

the backgrounds look nice, and I like being able to choose a fighter that isn't slow as molasses
although the stage design looks really uninteresting with enemy patterns not really being engaging, maybe that's because of the lower difficulty.

Are you honestly doing all of this vitriol/crying because it's not on the PS4? Calling the vid Raiden V Shit is a really classy move and not at all the actions of someone with a mental age of four.

We really can't be picky about what system these games come out on, I expect the viability of these small companies is already secured by investment funds from the platform holder, The only thing Sony did last generation was make it impossible to publish a shmup on their format until the last few years and even then they sold less than on the system that was being outsold 10/1 in the market.

A very poor indictment on the shmups community and it's no wonder it's a dying genre when this is an example of the 'fans'

Ya I mean I'm sorry I'm disappointed in what i saw? If it was indeed easy mode that might be one thing but nothing blew my socks off. Nothing to do with console war crap I just think putting it on a console that sold 52 units last week in Japan is pretty insane.

If this comes out on the PS4 for a cheaper price I can buy and download I'll probably get it. Not a game I want to pay for a physical copy abd get stuck paying taxes just to pick it up from the mailman though.

Not that the game looks irredeemably horrible, it may look better with a difficulty tweak and a more skilled player to show off proper special weapon usage. Just that video is really bad.
