Re: C89 Shmups
Battle-Crust has some nice hand drawn pixel art and reminds me more of Image-Fight but it looks too easy.
inurisu has a nice 'forced limits' thing going on but could use more detail in the backgrounds I feel.

Re: C89 Shmups
Of the shmups in that video, only Battle Crust, Luna Tempest, and 竜舞 aren't trials. There are many more shmups at C89 though, since most circles don't submit videos to Edelweiss' compilations. http://stg.liarsoft.org/c/?p=C89List has a more comprehensive list, but it's incomplete (and sometimes incorrect) when it comes to trial/finished status. It also blocks many non-Japanese IP addresses from time to time so it's not always accessible.
Unfortunately I can't name any more complete and new shmups outside of the aforementioned three. I'm sure there are a few, but it's a nightmare trying to figure it out with the way some circles design and maintain their sites.

Yep, its always blocked here in the U.S. Its not in Canada? Anyway, thanks for posting Aisha Clan Clan, I have always relied on your posts when it comes to doujin info.Aisha wrote:http://stg.liarsoft.org/c/?p=C89List has a more comprehensive list, but it's incomplete (and sometimes incorrect) when it comes to trial/finished status. It's not blocked in the US for me so idk
Re: C89 Shmups
They've mentioned before that they don't block the US, it's just their server/host/whatever is a pile of garbage.

Imalice is looking really good, just like last year. Unfortunately, it's also just like last year in that it looks like it's still quite a ways off from completion.
I think Temperance Lance (creator of ring^-27) will be distributing a trial of L.U.X. since the full version isn't quite done yet. I can't read the site well enough to tell whether it's a new trial or the same version as from C88, though.
Also, here's a link to Edelweiss's page with the full video, including non-STGs.

Cambria Sword from VAGUES looks very interesting, first time I'm reading about it.

Yeah, Cambria Sword looks really cool. It seems that the developer wants to get it out some time in the first half of 2016.
L.U.X. shouldn't be too far off now. The Comiket web catalog entry for Temperance Lance indicates that they planned on selling the full version, but it seems like they missed their deadline at the last minute.
FEGS' next game, 鬼祭 (Oni Matsuri), also looks really good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxg-OqYqddw It has been in development for a few years though, and it's hard to tell exactly what this circle will be distributing at C89.
And of course I'm looking forward to Yakouga 6. It's just going to be another trial this time, but I've been keeping up with them and I find it fun to see how a game evolves from start to finish.

Saw RebRank and was excited for a second until I realized that it's just their fuckin booklet plus whatever else comes in that set they're selling.

Re: C89 Shmups
Battle Crust has excellent visuals but it seems to be very slow and boring. Few and slow bullets. It's either one or the other, not both.
Imalice looks much better than in the demo I played. Seems like it's shaping up pretty nicely.
Yakouga 6 has interesting visual direction and seems to attempt to mix oldschool stage hazards with newschool mechanics. Nice music too. Interesting illustrations on the homepage of Cambria Sword's developer, by the way. Bizarre Dali-esque stuff.

IIRC, the music in Battle Crust is by the legendary Hyakutaro Tsukumoratikal wrote:Battle Crust looks pretty legit. I really liked Image Fight and that music is ballin.
