Jesus Lord. How can people get so upset when they clearly said they found and are fixing bugs? Have gamers become accustomed to the "Release with bugs, will patch later" policy so many developers use, that they rage at someone wanting to avoid that?

Also, Kamiya, STFU. You finance a game through Kickstarter, release it, then criticize Inafune.

(No, not an Inafune fanboy, but at least he's trying to release a bug-free product.)

Yeah, like I said the anti-hype-boat is kind of rediculous. I don't expect great things from the game, but at the end of the day it looks like it'll deliver what it promised: Another Mega Man game.

In case you responded to my message, I just want to clarify that it was not at all a reaction to the delay, I understand that completely. It was for this.
If watching the trailer of the game
makes you feel a certain way
I would be very happy if
you would give the game a try

No I missed your message, was more aimed an in-general statement at no one in particular :3

The aforementioned extended Red Ash anime fundraiser has been up for one of its total two months. With 25 supporters, it has reached $3,277 of its $127,118 goal, which is about 2,6%. I wonder Inafune finally takes a hint, or has he already long ago decided to let nothing sway him when all the negative Mn9 press started rolling?

Though I feel like just about no-one even knows about this particular fundraiser, but it could also be that it's just become status quo that Inafune (or whatever's associated with him) has some kind of fundraiser always up and running, thus nobody wastes attention on it. And speaking of attention, I don't think I've seen anyone or anything report about this since the initial crunchyroll article, it almost seems like the founders of this thing are embarrassed about this but it just cannot be stopped because the fundraiser deadline/lifespan has already been set.

I don't think Inafune should even think about another Kickstarter until MN9 is out the door and has some level of positive press attached to it.

Does this guy just take the first spitball idea for a Kickstarter he's got and just roll with it? I don't think there's a single game franchise who's attempted to get a TV equivalent this early in development. A Kickstarter like that would only only work if it were a pilot for an ongoing series-to-be that was also the primary focus of the creator. IE; not something tacked on as an afterthought to a game that'll probably do well enough on it's own.

Kind of a shame Inafune blew it so hard, I actually found the Red Ash project more interesting and intriguing than MN9.

How can they even make an anime for $127,000? Doesn't a single episode of animation cost millions of US dollars?

What was more interesting about Red Ash then MN9? I didn't follow it too much, genuine question.

I can see not getting hype for MN9, since before the kickstarter was up, it should have been obvious that it was just giving people what they (claimed) they wanted: another mega man game. Red Ash on the other hand? Don't see anything interesting about trying to clone an okay-ish spin off series of the host series he's already cloning.

I just like the look of it and the treasure hunter vibe being turned into an anime based action VN (which is kind of what it sounded like). MN9 is basically just another Mega Man, which doesn't light my fire.

Well, for me (and maybe other people as well), the Legends series turned out to be more than okay, and I enjoyed it a whole lot. Like, a lot more than I actually did playing the core Mega man games. I found it really endearing and super charming, and I wanted more of it.

I was also way more excited over the idea of Inafune getting to make a Mega Man-like game and flirting with fans than I was over the actual game. Had it been a 32-bit sprite thing I'd probably be more interesting but honestly, Beck's design just doesn't sit that well with me.

Red Ash proceeded to give Beck a makeover and putting out some interesting ideas while flirting heavily with Legends fans. It sounded like game I wouldn't mind playing. And I'm happy that it's going to be made now, despite the kickstarter failing.

Sure, it's no Legends 3 but it's something.

I still think the anime adaption is a mistake tho'. Like everyone else says, it was waay to early to throw that out there, and the Red Ash game kickstarter was also too early, since other projects weren't done yet.

I'd also like to give Red Ash credit for its looks at least. Especially Call's design feels vastly superior to me when the silly-ass fans didn't get to vote for a 1:1 Roll replica.

Never played Legends myself, yet.

Eureka seveN was a manga-anime-games combo of a franchise to begin with.

That's a single game that goes with an already established franchise. Plus he's had a show before. I see your point, though.

Just drop the network stuff and publish a traditional offline game.
The minute they tacked that on as an extended goal the complexity of programming the game probably tripled.

ugh. It's sad when network stuff is the main cause of delay for a single player focused game. It's puzzling that they aren't doing what Yacht Club and Galaxy Trail did with their games and just release some of the extras later.

Inafune, you post-capcom activities are amazing. Keep at it!
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

If it at least meant, that they're also going to tweak the game itslef somewhat. With the demo having been said to be representative of the final release, pretty much all of my interest melted away in an instant though when it was released last year. Neither was the gameplay really noteworthy (with some really stupid design choices and glitches still left in, which were already addressed during the beta), nor were the visuals or any of it's presentation.

The demo build is more or less fully-functioning, so we can probably write off that hypothesis.
