I just realized that the PS4 version captures how long you've been playing the game (in hours & minutes), which is a feature I always appreciate since I spent so much of my childhood playing JRPGs. Says I've played 52 hours so far, which actually seems accurate.

Looks like the retail release of DBCS did didn't do so well according to Media-Create, and did so-so according to Famitsu.

20./00. [PSV] Darius Burst: Chronicle Saviours <STG> (Kadokawa Games) {2016.01.14} (¥5.800) - 3.675 / NEW

13./00. [PSV] Darius Burst: Chronicle Saviours <STG> (Kadokawa Games) {2016.01.14} (¥5.800) - 7.223 / NEW <60-80%>

Judging from that screenshot, it looks just like the PS4 version, where it is a separate item under the main menu, which brings up the above screen where you can look at individual pages or scroll through them.

Since those are Vita-only figures, I'm not overly surprised.

So what happens when all the unlocks are completed on the title screen for AC mode. Cab 001 is almost closed out, does it unlock more?

They made so many dumb mistakes and weird decisions with this game it's unbelievable.

As much as I was looking forward to this game, it really makes it hard for me to enjoy it as much as I thought I was going to.

Has anyone found where the song 'Watch' from the soundtrack plays ingame? Apparently it's also in the game data as track 7 but I never encountered it.

I wonder how many japanese players bought the PC version just for dual screen support. Must be good for degica.

I think I have counters--both basic and cut-in--down, mostly. The key seems to be firing the Burst during the brief "mercy" window that the enemy beam provides. I took a trip to Keru (Next, 7 stages + 7 bosses) and was able to counter every single boss.

I kind of feel bad for them seeing as Steam doesn't seem to be very popular in Japan. (I could be wrong on this, I'm basing this off of concerns from others that Crimzon Clover WI would not sell in Japan due to being Steam-exclusive at first.) It would be like Americans having to use DLsite to download a popular AAA game (or really, any service that isn't Steam, since "not on steam" = "this could be on other digital distro platforms but I would rather not play the game at all than buy it on those sites" to most Westerners).

Hey, if Dariusburst has the Murakumo from Scramble Formation, as well as the X-LAY fighter from RayForce, the Inter Gray from Night Striker, and the Black Fly from Metal Black, why not include all the other characters from random Taito shmups? Like the Core Cannon from Space Invaders, the ships from Gun Frontier, or the characters from Gekirindan? I mean, this is a crossover game, right? This could be Taito's answer to Otomedius Excellent, minus the fanservice, or rather, the "Project X Zone" of shmups.

After messing around for a bit with the ships, I switched from Legend to Assault. The 274 million replay on Nico convinced me. It's much stronger for both survival and scoring than my previous ship, and while it's taking me some time to adjust to its playstyle (particularly counterbursts, which are only of the "side" kind) it's really fun to use. Surprised to see so few people using it in here.

My favorite is Formula. 2nd favorite would be Gaiden if it was actually strong

I'm pretty sure you can counterburst with Assault using either method - the methods are technically not any different from each other, they're both about activating the burst at the last possible moment before getting hit. Assault has really high scoring potential and does a lot of damage but it's just really hard to use especially if you want to time a kill with the counterburst finisher. I feel like Gaiden with its bomb mechanic is sort of an easier to use but not as flexible Assault, so I generally take Gaiden over Assault. Genesis is still my favorite though.

Assault is the only ship I can beat anything with... case in point, after two losses to Great Thing on CGL route, I tried it with the other ships, and, well... I didn't even make it to L with any of them.

This ship I think is the safest one, most powerful and safest burst blast, and the powerful bombs, but the scoring is not easy to handling

Just 1CC'd CFJ. But NOT BEI.
Am I the only one to find the latter so difficult compared to the other ones?
I had no trouble with Phantom Castle (probably because the only thing he shot after getting rid of his armor was two Bursts, LOL), weirdly enough, but Ancient Barrage, hoo boy.

Maybe you were hit so many times by the yellow bullet when Ancient Barrage is on the bottom of screen, it is actually fixed, if you have laser power, it is easy to avoid that attack and just avoid the violet laser attack.

More specifically, as mentioned above, when you touch an enemy burst there is a very brief window before you actually take damage; firing your Burst at that time turns it into a counter. A good example can be seen here; note that the Next crosses the beam almost entirely before deploying the Burst.

Oh. That makes a lot more sense! I'll have to try that.

To be perfectly honest, Great Thing and Violent Ruler are the only end-route bosses I've died to. And yeah, I had more trouble with Ancient Barrage than most of the other bosses in this game. In fact, the attack I had the most trouble with on him is very similar to the one I had trouble with on Violent Ruler - the one where he moves along the bottom of the screen and shoots all those diagonal shots.
The difficulty curve seems a little wonky, for the regular arcade stages at least. CGL is definitely the hardest, though.

Ancient Barrage and Violent Ruler can be made easier if you have a ship with Fixed Burst; drop it right above the boss and let it soak up the small lasers.

Thank you for the suggestions, though I already figured it out.

The problem is not that I lose too many ARMs at Barry, it's that I don't have a lot to begin with, if at all. Last time I played this route, right after having wrote the post above (because I though I could edit it with a "nvm, im pro", haha), I didn't even reach that boss. Hard Wheel is a POS (freaking lasers) and the stage before Barry isn't better, either.
I guess I'll have to git gud.
CFJ has taught me a lot about Fixed Bursting, and it helped me reach Dark Helios. Almost.

I fought, in CS Mode, Phantom Castle with Gaiden. Using two Black Hole Bombs was all I needed to annihlate its armor and get the achievement. Unfortunately, it started spinning, and it got rid of what he had left. A single, side piece.

One trick for Ancient Barrage when he does his bottom-screen lasers-upwards attack is to stop in the middle while he's moving from side to side. If you try to fly all the way to the other side without stopping, the purple and green lasers will box you in almost instantly.

One of my friend defeats Gigantic Bite without damage, using Origin Silver Hawk, equiping full Power and Bomb but without shield.

Finally out of Uinda Despair Club.

One person told me I have to ND the first two stages and while that 6 mil helps, it's not strictly necessary (I didn't ND either stage and still got 65 mil). Just kill every wave and midboss, destroy all of Thorn Wheel's wedges, destroy both of Lightning "useless laser trap" Prison's antennae, and don't take too much damage during either boss. If both waves and midboss are present, prioritize waves; you can vaporize midbosses fast thanks to Second's excellent point-blank DPS.
