Man, that "paradise system" is COOL! Now I'm really looking forward to Arrange mode on the PS2, I think I may like it better than the original ibara game, as it's more of a Cave-style scoring system. Anyway, I'll translate what they say about the "paradise system" for you folks:
-The rank gauge increases when you acquire bombs and medals.
-As the rank gauge increases, the enemies become more fierce.
-When you eliminate the enemy's bullets with a bomb, those bullets turn into roses.
-When you collect those roses, the rank gauge DECREASES.
-The higher the rank gauge is when the bullets change to roses, the higher the multiplier is for the roses.
-When the rank gauge is at MAX level, the roses are worth x300.

Hmmm, I guess that explains all the big shiny "x300" things we saw in the Black Label screenshots. The above system sounds interesting...has a bit of Galuda in there, in terms of how you want to "cash in" a high-level rank-o-meter at the right time in order to score well, but also involves some risk, seeing as you have to endure without bombing until the enemies are at their meanest in order to do it. Wonder if that feature will make it into Arrange mode along with the features already covered...

Yes, it will. It came from the PS2 Arrange mode. Black label is just an arcade port of Arrange. The "paradise" scoring system was made for PS2 Arrange, and that's the scoring system I just described for black label. Black label=PS2 arrange.BulletMagnet wrote:Wonder if that feature will make it into Arrange mode along with the features already covered...

If that's the case, then Ibara's "Arrange" mode is definitely more of a departure from its Arcade mode than Mushi's was to its corresponding mode...the latter basically gave you some extra firepower and an auto-bomb (and a free pass to the true final boss), but left the scoring and such pretty much the same...it seems my earlier guess that Arrange mode in Ibara would pretty much just do "the Mushi thing" is likely incorrect.

Still not sure if Black = Arrange on PS2. They said about a week ago they've taken many elements from the Arrange mode, but they've not said if it was a direct port or not. I guess we'll find out in... oh, about 6 weeks now.twe wrote:Yes, it will. It came from the PS2 Arrange mode.
Mushi's arrange mode was crap. Completely unimaginative. Just a watered down Maniac Mode if you ask me.then Ibara's "Arrange" mode is definitely more of a departure from its Arcade mode than Mushi's was
EDIT: I take that back. The link in the PS2 thread actually does say specifically it is a reverse port. O_o

And it states the 'paradise' scoring system from PS2 arrange was ported over to Black label. So it's confirmed Arrange will have that scoring system, and that's why I'm happy! It sounds like a fun system.

Yup. The stronger the subweapon, the faster the rank increases. The Shot is still affected in the same manner as Garegga, in that the number of bullets you fire, and the rapidfire rate increase rank.Dandy J wrote:Hey I have a question. Does picking up weapon powerups still increase rank? Also, does using the 'better' weapons still affect rank or the speed that it increases?
I didnt know Rose Medals decrease rank though. I thought they increased rank. And here's me trying to avoid them ^_^ (Unless that's a Black Label/Arranged Mode specific alteration to the original system...)

while i really have no business saying this, as i haven't played the game, it seems like this is being added for Arrange/BL. considering all the score mechanics they added to make rank extra funtastic, seems like a necessary change to make it more playable.Icarus wrote:I didnt know Rose Medals decrease rank though. I was at the loke test...
It was one weekend after the loke test for Pink Sweets at the same arcade, H.E.Y., in Akihabara about 3 blocks from the station. It's a completely different game from Ibara as far as the improvements go. Really gives a new meaning to "black label" when directly compared to the Dai-Ou-Jou one. Ibara is a great game, Ibara Black Label is a classic.
