There's apparently an exposé about the guy who translated it now, too. Here.
It's... a rather unpleasant matter.

Wow I can't believe after all this time nobody has re-translated what little text there is in the game. Would love to know what exactly is going on rather than assumption.

Too bad the english version was done so poorly. Would have bought it.

Same here. But I know that the script differences have been talked about before in broad strokes, with characterization and some precise details being different.

Sounds cool, I already have a physical copy but it's neat when more people hear of sora.

This suggestion might be easier to follow if you provided a link.

An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.

Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

It's out.

Now in 1080p, windowed fullscreen and without r e p l o i d s.
I also noticed that the SB2 fight is different in the steam Version: the final phase has a different rocket pattern. There are probably other changes too. Some guy claimed that he has unlocked the Accelerator upon defeating SP Suguri, which is usually unlocked by having 100 Plays.

I got the Bluesky Edition because DEKU is a cool guy.

Steam Exclusive? Boo!

This game is the sole reason I still need applocale on my machine.

Correction: Steam Exclusive no more! DRM-free DL when purchased directly from their store:

You'll need to scroll down quite a ways.

Hooray! You can now change keyboard setting with the in-game menu instead of F'ing around with External_Option.

Goodbye Applocale!

Any way to get the DRM-free download if you've previously purchased the game on Steam? Of course I could ask for a refund (I still have under 2 hours of playtime) and repurchase it, but I'd rather not go through the trouble if there's an easier way.

Also, the game runs terribly on my laptop. Every time there's some lighting effect like at the start of stage 3 my FPS plummets to something like 20. :(

NTSC-J: You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too.

some of the performance issues seem to have been fixed by the patches, but if you still get slowdown (I get it when recording), try choosing the 640x480 resolution and disabling blur.

Dunno, but if you want to try, go to this thread!

I imagine if you get a steam refund then buy direct from Fruit Bat Factory they'll pocket more money for their efforts without The Steam Empire taking their cut.
