Just to comment on this quick:

1) And as you see, 90% of comments are about price OR "i loved Darius in past, they had soul" nostalgia men.
That I can sort of live with. What really gets me is guys who go into the comments section and start asking questions about what the different modes are and where is best to start for beginners etc, when all that information is included in the review!

Grinds my gears a bit, but what can you do.

Side Counters are almost always way safer to do, even with the warning tracers that help with timing standard Burst Counters (a great addition over the original DB on PSP). I generally don't attempt standard BCs unless I'm trying to practice the timing (which I still need to work on), or if space isn't permitting a Side Counter; there's one stage where I've had that happen, it's one of those asteroid field stages.

Anyway, Gaiden's high rate of fire makes it satisfying to use. Almost feels like the same as Extra Version's autofire, maybe slightly slower. It's a decent tradeoff for not having a Burst Laser. Using this ship helps me work on dodging stuff without the comfort of the Burst Laser.

P.S.
Taito doesn't seem to like it when you upload the full soundtracks of the Dariusburst games. They don't seem to care much if you upload soundtracks of the older Darius games, though.

After playing more of DBCS I more or less stop playing the CS mode. The grind-fest was getting on my nerves. I'll stick to AC mode for them quick plays.

Since the game has been out for a while here's the shortest route to the endgame area & ending in CS mode:
Spoiler
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVzRckqfRCg
Should be doable to reach the ending in <11 hours using Preset ship for all missions provided you don't gameover multiple times. If you want to see the new bosses and ending instead of grinding through CS I hope this helps out. The only 'bonus' for completion of the whole map is the 24 zone extra mission.

I got copyright struck because of the "full version" (the six parts one after another) of Suite Photoconductivity I uploaded. Be careful.

That music's fantabulous, by the way. It lacks a "melody", so to speak, but it sets the mood right.
Still prefer World of Peace.

Pretty sure this is my favourite of the new stuff, amazing. This is the sort of quality I was expecting from the Zuntata boys rather than Freedom. We'll write that off as a weird blip though.

Hah, I considered that but assumed there's be a bit if lag on a Duet'd iPad. Pretty cool.

Dual-screen play looks great, but when I'm playing seriously I do much better on one screen. Dealing with the seam is pretty tricky :P

The ipad is connected to the usb port of my laptop. I have to run it at low res so it runs somewhat smoothly. They claim that this version has no lag. If there is lag, it's because my laptop has to drive both screens. Every so often it stutters, but that's a small price to pay for this awesomeness. I also stay on the laptop screen for the most part.

I'm glad I spent the $10 on the app. This game alone makes it worth it.

I've been out of touch with shooters for a few years now since I started getting back into beatmania seriously, but this game has me hooked. I can't believe this port exists, I've been dying to play this since the original AC release haha.

Welp, I'm screwed. ~12-13 hours to clear ADH and get through about 15 CS missions. I should probably stop trying to get mediocre "high" scores on individual CS missions.

Finished all of the AC Original 1ccs last night. Killing G.T. felt real good 8) It's a lot easier to work through everything when you can experiment without pumping tons of cash into the cabinet. Gonna enjoy taking what I learn on console to the arcade.

Also finished EX V course last night blind. Golden Ruler was pretty awesome. I really love how epic ADH is and the music, second only to G.T., but the course had become too easy for me. Glad I can still get my Ruler fix in a more challenging course. I've also settled into Gaiden as my ship of choice. I never really considered it before since I enjoyed the Burst laser mechanic so much, but actually there's a lot to be said for straight up classic Darius dodging, and the bomb gives you just enough slack to get through sections that would prove very difficult with Second or Origin. I definitely feel like you end up with a stronger grasp of boss fight strategies when you don't have a laser wall to depend on.

Anyhow it's been smooth sailing so far, but I think that the EX courses are going to be rough. I don't really want to imagine an even more brutal G.T. variant...

Am I the only one that thinks that Next's force-burst laser speed zips around too fast to do any good? Legend gives you some time to set it up properly, but one small movement for Next barrels the pod all over the place.

When you get used to it the speed of Next's laser becomes exceptionally useful. I'm the opposite, I hate how much time it takes to properly set up with Legend. Next will be hard until laser positioning becomes second nature though.

Gigantic Bite's Arrow bullets are hard to dodge. It's like fighting against lightnings.

Same, I tend to find with Legend I need to reposition more than once, which is usually too late if there was a swarm I was trying to catch or shield against.
