Yeah, 2P C-S. MOZ/SKY has the (non-bug) WR for C-type.

I don't know how he triggered the counterstop and he doesn't say. Due to the lack of response to the post by Japanese players, I guess it's a known bug. Maybe something like the one in ESPrade where the game suddenly belches points.

At this point, I'm convinced every shooter has a counterstop somewhere in it.

However the counter stop in ddp is sure for a bug (I've never seen before). Impossible obtain in normal play. 908 max hits is low. For score above 730.000.000 usually the max hits is 920/950 hits.

Can anyone confirm this was on default settings?

If anyone has any more games they want added, please post them.

I'm going to start adding records for all ship types, so there are bound to be a lot of missing or incorrect forum scores. Don't hesitate to point out any errors.

I'm also going to change the "West" scores to "Forum", as in scores from this forum, even though a few scores are from MARP or other places. I've noticed a number of people getting a bit prickly when it comes to "Western records". To me, the intention in listing those records is just so we know what the top scores are in our community to give players a "local" score they can interact with (in other words, they know the player who set it so they can ask them questions or simply want to beat their score out of spite, I dunno), plus they're more achievable scores than world records and are a nice benchmark.

If anyone has any objections (you don't like "Forum", you think "West" is fine, or if you have another idea), please speak up now.

Maybe in a few months, the arcadia record list update will appear in a new arcadia site. Some jap players speak about this.

I don't care; none of those are precise, but I agree that "forum" is more specific because most of the scores are either posted here or otherwise attained by the members.

"Community" it is.

SOF-WTN just set a new Raiden Fighters world record with the Slave ship (it's also the highest score overall).

As your listed world record is 56 million with Judge Spear this new Slave score doesn't look highest overall to me.

Given that PAC was just outed for cheating on multiple games, I'd put that score under a lot of scrutiny.

Also The Pro is easily the best Twin Cobra player I've ever seen. Very impressive. He can play Sky Shark for days as well.

If you're adding any shmup that has an arcadia score, that would be nice, since this is the first thing I ever check for up to date highscores. And I have some shmup recommendations you could add, both incredible classics.

DATA EAST

Boogie Wings / The Great Ragtime Show
World: THE YMN - 4.354.850 - Autofire ON
West: copy-paster - 413,530 - Autofire ON

Darwin 4078
World: TANIGUCHI TAKAHIRO - 10.000.000+α
West: MORENO@TeamBrazil - 744.680

Found the darwin west score on MARP. Boogie Wings score is a blind run from death roulette  I'd like to get a decent score for that someday.

hanasu, thanks for the info about PAC. I've added a note to his 1943 score.

In games before 2015 Pac used only autofire without declare. The mega cheat (save & load during replay) is used this year only.

About MEGA BLAST, Arcadia magazine say 822,900 pts, but in the official web page of the game center "Game Box Q2" I read 829.900 (http://aoijun.sakura.ne.jp/Q2/score28.html), which is the correct score? Arcadia or game center site? Mmmmh impossible know.

Loop 2-4. From moneybag is possible leech many points but when there are too objects on the screen, the game slows and the max shot decreases, so is dangerous.

The Donpachi western record needs to be updated. It could be:

menoslug - 39,946,160 - ALL - Max Hit: 83 - Type A

or

Plasmo - 35,284,630 - 2-5 - Max Hit: 85 - Type C

Menoslug's score is clearly higher but I'm pretty sure he lives in Korea so I'm not entirely sure if it can be considered the Western record. Either way both scores are very good.

This is why we were talking about changing "Western" to "Community" or "Forum" - it makes more sense if you want to include menoslug's score. There are already scores listed from x91 and NTSC-J, who live in China and Japan, respectively.
