Fudoh wrote:no, that's definitely not it. As mentioned before I had the XRGB-3/XSELECT-D4 combo running for a few years and I didn't have any problems. I think there one source which didn't work when connected to the D4's JP21 input (Mega Drive maybe?), but in general I routed most of the systems through the D4 before passing them to the XRGB-3's back-RGB input.

I guess you tried all the D4's sync options from the extended menu (sync tip etc) ?
I've tried every combination of sync settings on both the d4 and xrgb 3 but I've only used a ps1 with luma sync scart cables to test the image. I'm waiting until next week for my Saturn to be repaired so I can try with that.

Are you sure when you used that setup you weren't using d terminal connections between the 2 units and not dsub15?

definitely not. First because it doesn't look great - no idea why - and second because I used the D4 as a splitter. RGB was routed into the XRGB-3, while component went into my component matrix which was then routed into my Faroudja line doubler, my Optoma and my DVDO at the same time.

The analogue outputs of all machines (DVDO, Faroudja and XRGB-3) where then routed in an Extron 203 switch with a SLG3000 sitting behind the Extron. This way I could use the switch on the Extron to instantly compare the XRGB, the Faroudja and the DVDO.

Can't say that I remember trying this with a PS2, but I know that I used my SFC and RGB modded NES a lot on this setup. Saturn as well.

It's possibly that I asked this before, but did you ever try a 240p source directly connected to that input on the XRGB-3 ?

To find out if it's the console or the cable I presume? Yup. No problems at all.

I mainly just wanted a second jp21 input so I can have my Saturn and ps1 hooked up at all times without swapping cables
