I tried to defend the poor Dreamcast, but alas, it's like trying to talk to a mainstream gamer about shmups-- they're too ignorant to handle the facts, the truth.
So give us some facts then.
Why can the PS2 not do Ikaruga or Bangaioh?
Anyways, I like the Dreamcast so much I have Blue Stinger for USA and Japan. That's way more hardercore than you about Dreamcast.
Pa
Laso post... this thread is making me sick.
The N64 was a cartridge-based system. No doubt, when programmed well and with resources managed properly, Bangaioh could very well run at a decent speed.
The DC has 8 megs of video memory. PS2 had 4. yes,
FOUR. Also, one cannot deny the inferiority of 2-D support on PS2 versus the Dreamcast's.
Again, look at GGX's load times, and look at the
immense slowdown on the Cave games. Granted, there was slowdown in the arcades as well, but the ammount of slowdown in the PS2 ports-- even the well-done ports by Arika, as opposed to Mushi's half-assed port-- is asinine. It's not the developer's fault. It's a hardware limitation. Add the factor of a faulty lens (at least on the huge version of the PS2; I've heard they fixed the problem with the slim model) and you've got yourself a disaster waiting to happen.
Fortunately, bangaioh is a 2-d shooter, and no developer in their right mind would put it on PS2 unless it came bundled with Radiant Silvergun, Silhouette Mirage, Guardian Heroes, Mischief Makers, and Gunstar Heroes, all on one bargain-priced disc.
Welcome to motherfucking America.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Cave should have just stuck with Sega and ported their games to the Dreamcast.
cept GGX is a naomi game, and yes, its easier making naomi to DC ports because its almost like an arcade dreamcast, nooone argues that.
however, have you played #reload you fuckwit? if you did, you'd know the PS2 is well capable of having a superior game than GGX on the dreamcast. by the way, everyone plays reload now, are you having fun playing your GGX bootleg by yourself?
DOJ is as arcade perfect as it could be, i dont own galuda but word around these parts is that its basically the same.what are you talking about on the slowdown part? arika put monitors side to side to guarantee the slowdowns occured on the same spots as the arcade, the best DOJ players in the world have confirmed that it was arcade perfect, you spit more nonsense than DOJ spits bullets.
as for the rest of your post, its so full with nonsense im not going to toucch it, yes SCEA sucks, as does nintendo of europe, but what does it have to do with anything?
you didnt play any other fighting game that GGX and CVS (im guessing CVS2 since you dont even remember the title) and think you qualify to make assumptions?
