Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Has anybody tried this on a 4:3 monitor?
I have a 4:3 PC CRT and I'd be playing this at native resolution when I buy it. I know 4:3 support isn't guaranteed anymore, even with games that were originally 4:3 (see Resident Evil HD, you have to go to the config files to play 4:3, and it results in cutscenes being stretched vertically)

Yup and no problems here.BazookaBen wrote:Has anybody tried this on a 4:3 monitor?

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I attempted to use GeDoSaTo, but my antivirus software didn't like it. For some reason, the game actually ran worse when using the Nvidia card and only went slightly higher or about the same with the Intel graphics 3000. I'm not sure if it was due to the antivirus software interfering, but I decided GeDoSaTo wasn't worth the hassle. I did manage to get both pads on the Super Dual Box Pro working with the game and I'm enjoying the game itself quite a bit.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
My high scores still keep uploading to the leaderboards without a replay attached; I also noticed that when I confirm at the replay upload prompt, it immediately jumps to the local replay save prompt as if nothing actually uploaded.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I too have the replay desync issues unfortunately. My computer also goes into suspend at times while playing, which is odd.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
So it appears they fixed the framerate issue....
.... by forcing on Vsync. Hello, input lag. Like, Battle Garegga in vanilla MAME lag. I was able to force it off in the Nvidia control panel and suddenly Reco controls like a dream. But now I have to deal with screen-tearing.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Opposite for me. The new patch has increased my fps from 56-57, to 57-58 and increased the already noticeable stuttering.OmegaFlareX wrote:So it appears they fixed the framerate issue....

Turning v-sync off in Nvidia control panel does not produce screen-tear in this game for me but does bring the fps back down to 56-57.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Supposedly creating 60 FPS with no tearing and no lag is a non-trivial problem.
I know there are quite a few developers here, how do you solve it ?

Are there plans to expand keymapping options for the keyboard? Some of my friends would like to play the game with WASD movement keys.

Weird. Are you playing in fullscreen or windowed mode? The vsync setting in the control panel only works in fullscreen for me. I can't seem to turn it off for windowed mode.Zen wrote:Opposite for me. Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Full-screen. Also (for me at least), since the patch, the full-screen option has to be set each time the game opens. Further, the game is loading up much slower than before.OmegaFlareX wrote:Weird. Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Vsync only works in fullscreen. When the games windowed you'll notice it still applies because windows has triple (?) buffered vsync as part of windows aero.OmegaFlareX wrote:Weird. Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I am pleasantly surprised at how fast the first patch came rolling in. Good on you Degica and Cave!
After the new patch the game is now running in 60fps without gedosato. This is very good! However it only runs in 60fps when it is in windowed mode, when in fullscreen it runs at 57. Also the aspect ratio for 16:10 monitors still hasn't been fixed. I love 1.5 maniac max, all it needs now is a good quality soundtrack for this mode and I am set.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
With the patch, I'm finally able to play the game. It's pretty cool!
But it'd also be cool if the game didn't force a resolution when going fullscreen. It's a minor complaint, but I see no reason why it can't use the monitor's native resolution.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Just gave it a shot this morning, so I guess the patch was already applied for me. The menu system seems buggy and doesn't ever save my settings or replays correctly, so I have to create a save each time I play...hopefully this will get worked out in the next patch.
That's a pretty minor issue though and the game looks and plays great for me. The 1.5 DLC is definitely worthwhile and overall I'm pretty pleased with Cave's first Steam release.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Okay, so it wasn't just my imagination. I ended up running the game windowed and turning off Windows Aero to improve the input lag.OmegaFlareX wrote:So it appears they fixed the framerate issue....

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
With v-sync on, replays desync like crazy now. They're not even close to correct.
I love the game and want to be supportive of the port, but are you guys really testing this stuff?

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Played a quick credit of Original mode this morning & the stuttering seemed to have improved for me. Which is definitely encouraging.
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Thanks for the info. I should have figure it out myself... Disabling Vsync makes the game (at its current state) playable again.OmegaFlareX wrote:So it appears they fixed the framerate issue....

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Good god almighty the input lag in the patch makes this utterly unplayable. How do I fix this? Is there even a fix for that?
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Have you tried running the game windowed and disabling Aero? That helps with all sorts of games, and this one seems to be no exception.Momijitsuki wrote:Good god almighty the input lag in the patch makes this utterly unplayable. How do I fix this? Is there even a fix for that?
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Game is definitely running smoother for me now, though it's sad to hear about the V-Sync issues. I was under the impression that V-Sync was already on in the previous build since it was locked to 55-56 FPS rather than all over the place. I have V-Sync set to the application setting and I haven't noticed lag with it.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
BTW, i just tried getting a 1cc on Original on normal, and failed at it (sigh), but i wonder, is it me or is this game a lot easier than DoDonPachi (the only other Cave game i ever played). I mean, it is still very hard but that one was insane, especially in the last two stage. Unless Original is not the same as the arcade version. Never played Mushimesama on MAME.
