Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
so someone on steam said the games crashes when you try to launch it up? quite worried now
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I haven't heard of a (PC) game launching without someone complaining about it crashing on launch.

And then there is always the question. What happens when a given console is no longer supported? What if the Xbox 360 goes out the market? If i currently want to play a PS1 or PS2 game i can always turn to an emulator, but so far there has been no Xbox or PS3 emulator (and by the looks of it there might not even be one), which makes me very queasy about committing to those platforms. If Cave truly wants to port their library of games on the PC, it would be a great boon, because once a game is ported on the PC, it will always be there. Hell, there's even an emulator out there to play games from truly archaic platforms such as the Plato system.
At any rate, this is going to be a day one purchase for me, if anything to support development for further ports.
Um, you should do more research...

Wow, so they are getting close? Last time i checked everybody was adamant it was never going to happen, or at least not in the foreseeable future. What about PS3?ratsflif wrote:Opus131 wrote:

Quite a lot of people are having this problem, including me and Zaarock.pokemon123 wrote:so someone on steam said the games crashes when you try to launch it up? quite worried now
It launched at the same time once for both of us though, so I think it's plausible that this has something to do with the online leaderboards connecting or something

I've never played Mushihimesama; should I go for the base game + 1.5 version, or just the base game, as a complete newcomer?
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I'd say that no matter your skill level, you should always go for the 1.5.CaptainAhab wrote:I've never played Mushihimesama; should I go for the base game + 1.5 version, or just the base game, as a complete newcomer?
Many people consider it better than the base game, and the soundtrack is excellent.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Anyone else having problems getting it to run in fullscreen? I get a black screen (music still playing in the background), could only get out of it by using CTRL-ALT-DEL and restart windows from there, it would go back to black screen if I even try to bring up the task manager. This is in Windows 10 btw.
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Pricing should be sorted out now.
In any case, Mushihimesama is now live! Please enjoy the game.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Is there any option to change the wallpaper? I know it was possible on the Xbox 360 version but for some reason I cannot find it. And changing the BGM for 1.5 does not seem to work (unless I am doing it wrong).
Anyway, it is an excellent port of the Xbox 360 version. It runs very smoothly on my weak laptop.

How do you run the 1.5?Cagar wrote:I'd say that no matter your skill level, you should always go for the 1.5.CaptainAhab wrote:I've never played Mushihimesama; should I go for the base game + 1.5 version, or just the base game, as a complete newcomer?

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
strange, I have stutter on all scrolling including the attract screen with the scroll message like its not sync'd to the screen, maybe my laptop isn't powerful enough but if it stutters on the attract title i would have thought it would have died in the game and it has the same amount of stutter.
anyone else experiencing this?
my specs are :- windows 10 64bit
I5 @2.50ghz
tried on both intel hd4000 and radeon hd 7600M

I wouldn't say so. Watered down, perhaps, unless we're talking of MAX modes.
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
If you go into a mode, there's another screen menu with additional options that lets you change wallpapers.DestroyTheCore wrote:Is there any option to change the wallpaper? Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I take it the game is not supposed to just sit of the "Preparing to launch Mushihimesama..." screen?
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Game crashed initially when I tried to change to full screen, had to restart whole pc. It now works, albeit with glaring bugs and problems. I will not touch this game until these issues are fixed.
1. Game is locked at 55fps for me, even in menus. Whereever I am in-game it is locked at 55fps, also the gameplay feels jittery. For the record I am running it on a i5 650 @ 3.20ghz with a Radeon HD7870. 64bit Win 7 with 8GB Ram. So why the hell is this happening?
2. Can't change resolution or aspect ratio to match my monitor. Fullscreen looks like crap as it has massive borders.
3. Can't configure the start button on the game to match my arcade stick.. what the hell.... Make all the buttons configurable damnit.
And these are issues that I just happened to notice within the first 5 mins of playing, I am generally easy to please but I won't touch this port. In conclusion this is a bad port and it's back to MAME for me. If these issues aren't fixed soon I might actually consider refunding this purchase. I said I wanted CAVE games on PC, but not like this. Hopefully I am the odd one out and no one else is experiencing these issues. If there's a fix or something, then please let me know, because I am disappointed and salty.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Seems I bought the game before the discount kicked in. Doubt I'm going to bother refunding and then rebuying - not worth the aggravation dealing with Steam support.
Game is really fun, but I'm finding all the modes confusing. Can't seem to find a manual, and seems that Mushihimesama has seen about a million different incarnations across various platforms. Don't even know where to begin to find some definitive playthroughs when there are so many modes. Ikaruga is so much more simple.

Thought i was going mad, thank god someone noticed the stutter and I hope they fix this. I have posted in the error reporting thread on steam, hope they take note.mastermx wrote:Game crashed initially when I tried to change to full screen, had to restart whole pc. Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
The stutter was the very first thing I noticed. I was like "It's so much smoother on mame". I tried restarting my pc, tried closing other applications, tried a few things then eventually gave up. I hope they fix it too, they can't just leave it like this, I hope they don't neglect it like they did with their android ports(worst ports ever made).

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
This is the first PC game I've played in years that doesn't recognize my PS1 D-pad.
Mushi is a great game but this is a shit port.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
All good for me ! No stutter but the game seems to skip a frame once every minute or so (kind of dangerous during gameplay actually).
(I've had the same issue while streaming videos or using some emulators though, so it might be something specific to my pc configuration)
Windows 8.1 laptop
CPU: i3-4030u 1.9GHz http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu ... 40+1.90GHz
GPU: Intel HD4400 & nVidia 820M (optimus, tried both gpu's, both were fine, just had to force vsync on the nVidia)
RAM: 4GB
Saturn Sega SLS USB gamepad: no problem
PS: will try on my desktop PC tomorrow, it's a Win 7 and much more powerful.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
okay so a lot of people seemed to have this weird jittery feeling as well.
slowdown also feels weird going from SUPER slow to instantly back to fast again.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
can people turn the fps counter on in steam and report back, even those who say it runs smooth, my machine says 56fps
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
Same here, it stays around 55-56fps. But mostly 56. Others should test this out too, some may not even notice this issue.

Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I'm getting constant 59 FPS.
Re: Mushihimesama on Steam
I seem to be getting 57.9FPS but haven't noticed any stuttering.
I don't use v-sync as I use freesync.
In the directory there is a file called Mushihimesama.ini which looks like you can change the resolution in.
It contains the following: (Defaults)
[Mushihimesama]
AspectRatio=1
DispFull=0
DispX=542
DispY=354
DispW=1280
DispH=720
Angle=0

It does say 55~56 fps, but the Steam fps counter turns vsync off on the game no matter what gpu I use, even when set to forced.Enemy wrote:can people turn the fps counter on in steam and report back, even those who say it runs smooth, my machine says 56fps
