The game itself looks fun, though. Not sure if it'll control well on a phone but if it does then I could see it being a nice way to pass some time.

Solemnity aside, I've been waiting for this game a while --- it actually looks _fun_!

This was recently released on Steam and iOS for $3 (their website mentions Android as well but that doesn't seem to be out yet). I haven't bought it yet but I'm very tempted as I've been seeing a lot of good things being said about it.

Yeah this game is awesome. Just managed to clear hard mode today.. going to try and see how speedrunning both modes is like (got a 11:13 on normal, but pretty sloppy)

World 4 on hard feels like a shmup but for the most part I never got that impression. Also the scoring/combo system is very fun, they weren't off with that

Just $3 for Downwell is a steal. Great game. It's good for players that liked to chain jumps in a row from enemy to enemy in Super Mario Bros., AND lets you shoot them.

Going to tackle Hard Mode at some point, and it lives up to that from the bit of it that I played. But with enough practice, I can tear through it.
