Interesting mission, despite being tiresome. Here the best 5:

S_Fang - Raiden Fighters Jet - Aegis IV - Stage 10 - 4420988 3? Cool game, with lots of ships.
S_Fang - Heavy Unit - Stage 3 - 131850 3 It remind me of Gradius with the multi-scrolling screen, but with cool robot trasformation.
S_Fang - Darius II - Area D - 821430 3 Three screens is an interesting gimmick for people with three monitors (NOT me, though). Also, obnoxious power-up penality trope that needs to die or really rehauled.
S_Fang - Atomic Robo-kid - Act 3 - 103500 3 Intresting game, but the instant respawn is annoying, especially if you get crowded so easily.
S_Fang - Vulgus - Stage 3 - 93250 3 Boring game with boring music and "dumb as a block" enemies' spawn locations.

Sim 10 is one of the 2 possible stages you can get for your 3rd in RFJ assuming you're not playing the 360 version's full run course(the other is 15).

Has this topic died or something? More than one week has been passed since the start of Loop 17.

If really people are too busy or lost interest in it, why do not end the Roulette here and start again during another season?

I imagine ACSeraph's been quite busy lately. I personally haven't minded because I've also been busy and wouldn't have had the time anyway, but I hope it does keep going.

I picked 19XX: The War Against Destiny and it was by accident, as I picked my game after the end of loop 17.

Anyway:

Cotton Boomerang - Cotton(pink)/Needle/Appli(black) Stage 2 - 1042400 "2" Is like Cotton 2 from the Ura loop, but with multiple playable characters and a one-hit kill for the single character.
Master of Weapon - Act 2 - 128950 "2" Is an hard game and somewhat unpolished in term of graphic.
Final Star Force - Stage 3 - 166000 "3" What a cool game, especially the change of musc when you get a different weapon. But could they make the nemies a little bit of more visible? It could be hard to dodge.
Rapid Hero - Stage 3 - 385070 "3" Another cool game, with lots of bullet for the times it was released.
19XX: The War Against Destiny - Lightning - Stage 3 - 503300 "3" Stage 2 always screw me up when I have to kill the enemies AND dodge stuff for survive. Raimei has a cool music, though.

TOTAL: 2+2+3+3+3= !13!

Hey everyone! I've been wanting to restart this thing for a while now, but since getting married my life has been a bit crazy with work and travel. Things have finally calmed down now though, so it's time to bring this back.

Like the ---URA--- this loop will have a special rule set and require registration. Hopefully there is enough interest to warrant running it. DR has always been meant to be a more casual everyday competition on here, so this won't require a ton of dedication like STGT, just a single credit per day of whatever we are playing. Think of it as an experiment of sorts to see how far shmups forum can take it. Obviously players of all skill levels are welcome, so don't hesitate to sign up. The winning player will recieve a prize from me in the mail. Nothing huge, just some very small Darius swag from Taito Hey!, but I think you'll like it.


Rules:


This time around we will be doing a true survival tournament. Your goal is to be the last man standing, and as such the tournament will continue until that happens.

Each day I will roll a shmup that is properly supported in MAME. Everyone participating will play this same shmup. Your goal is to pass a certain stage benchmark in the game. Initially these benchmarks will be low, but they will get higher as the tournament continues. For example if the benchmark is "reach stage 3", then you would play the game and attempt to make it that far. If you fail you will lose 1 life, pass and you are safe. Each player has 3 total lives and when all of them are depleted you are considered dead and are removed from the competition.

The catch is, as in normal Death Roulette, you get only one attempt. You cannot restart your credit for any reason whatsoever! Do not lie or you will spend your eternal afterlife being sodomized by Dark lord Yagawa.

If you miss playing one of the games you are not automatically booted from the tournament, but you will automatically lose a life, so be careful. I also understand it may be difficult for the more busy among us to play a game daily, so I was thinking one roll per two days. The rules are not yet set in stone, so feel free to make suggestions.

All players must pre-register, and no one may join once the tournament has started. I would like to start the tournament in exactly one week on Friday October 9th (Japan time). If you are interested in participating, please post here, and leave any comments or suggestions you want.
