Have any of you noticed this?

Post by atheistgod1999 »

On Youtube, the by far most destroyed console is the Xbox 360. In so many videos, people rage and smash them. You almost never see a PS3 getting thrown or shot or smashed on Youtube. Why do you think this is?

dude. seriously. stop.

I get it - the whole "teen angst" thing.. Your parents just don't understand you (DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince can help with this), and you're growing new hair in new places, and you just get this funny feeling when you're around girls now.. Oh, and high school is no doubt harder than life out here in the real world with all the retro console / CRT vs LCD battles going on over lunchtime.. But do you think you could keep the shitposting to the Club Penguin forums?

A. I've been going through puberty for over 3 years now, it didn't just start
B. I haven't played club penguin since I was like 12. That game sucks.

Out of your 88 posts so far, no fewer than 39 of them are you creating a new thread to ask some little question, and all the rest except maybe 4 or 5 posts are replies in those threads. You might want to ask yourself what you've added to the community here, and remind yourself that we're not your personal help desk. I would have expected someone who's been registered here for nearly five months to have a better idea of what's actually appreciated around here.

NTSC-J: You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too.

On Topic: Nope, I don't search for or watch videos of consoles being smashed on Youtube. I don't know why anyone would bother to.

Off Topic: Despite the claims to being a retro gamer, I haven't seen you post about any games specifically. The roguelike and summer camp recommendation threads are the closest, but neither of those actually discussed any games specifically (and the roguelike thread was abandoned without any further discussion from you).

The fact that you haven't talked about any games despite being a "retro gamer" leads me to believe that it's just a phase. If that's not true though, there's the shmups chat forum if you want to talk about shmups. BIL's action platformer thread is also a great place to discuss and learn about some really amazing side scrollers too.

I wasn't the greatest poster ever when I was 13-15 either. Although my postings back then were more like Lord Satori: well meaning and friendly but with undeveloped tastes and easily baited into dumb flame wars via trolling (ALL CAPS DRAMA).

I can make some shitty threads if people want more variety.

People are hungry for conversation about Larry Lessig, aren't they?

Not everyone can be a good poster. I know that I don't have much left to contribute either.

Perhaps the OP should have worded his question better. No harm done, IMHO, though.

I believe Satori Kun has established he's actually in his 20s, which kind of makes it worse, but whatever.

No I saw them, which is why I'm suggesting he refrains from making threads and starts joining some others.

His chances of survival are slim to none, I agree. But Satori Kun hangs on and Edmund Dantes still occasionally makes special guest appearances.

At any rate I was attempting diplomacy, misplaced as perhaps it was.

Well, I think he should double down and be himself. My advice:

That kid who seems to dislike you is just playing hard to get. He doesn't want word to get around school about his sweet CRT, because they'll pester him to use it all the time. You should follow him home without him noticing and take pictures of the inside of his house from the bushes to investigate the mystery of what kind of CRT he's been using, and what games he's playing on it exactly. Raiden? Strider? THE INTERNET MUST KNOW

I expect pics!

I had to think long and hard before responding to this thread.

@atheistgod1999: I've issued you a formal warning. You've had threads locked before (by the admins, no less), and people aren't keen on what you post. Think carefully before pressing "New Topic" next time.
If you feel the need to post something, try using the "Little things that annoy the hell out of you" thread.

@the rest of you: We'll take it from here. Locking this thread.
