I'm using this:
I really don't see the reason for the frame rate drops. No worries a simple patch should fix it no problems.
I would like to request a remapping of directional controls for keyboard for both eschatos and silversword, i like to play on wasd+numpad 4,5,6. By the way judgement silversword uses numpad 4,8,6,2 for directions so it's impossible to remap shots to these button. Also i have framedrops too (with all effects off), my pc is old and weak but i doubt it can't handle this level of graphics.
Blackbird, does the Steam version of Eschatos include the DCL from the 360 versions? I know that there was an arrange soundtrack, but there might have been other items as well.

Well, from what I see in the JP 360 page of that game, yes, indeed, there was DLC, and that did include the arrange soundtrack as a changable BGM selection (Though priced at 720Y), the rest was just gamer pics though.
But to answer your question, no, though the game is just included as a base or the bundle with the wonderswan games.
I rewatched parts of the Eschatos stream on the Degica Twitch channel. Blackbird makes some vague mention of the arrange OST. I hope it will eventually come to Steam, as it is very good (you'll find some tracks on Youtube).
I still think it'd be cool if you could use your own mp3s for stages, then we could use the N163 arrange tracks .
Looks like the music is in EschatosStreamBank.XWB, which I can listen to in Audactiy but have no clue for modding it lol. Looks like something XNA Game Studio creates according to quick research.
Hmm I might look more into this, kind of curious.

Seconded on the arrange OST for eschatos. That sound track needs to be added to the PC release.
I wonder how many more shmups Degica will bring to the PC. Next step for Degica is to get Yagawa to bring his games to steam. In HD with arrange modes and improved OST.

Garegga + Batrider + Bakraid and you win at everything Degica.

A tough job making those a better 'value' than MAME emulation.
New modes and features, and extremely good upscaling not killing the beautiful pixel art would be required indeed.
Better go for the three Ibara games, worthy ports this time, not like the PS2 and 360 ones (and a first for Kuro of course).
The Eschatos AST isn't available at launch, but there's a good chance we'd release it later since the soundtrack is so well regarded. Putting together a list of feedback from the launch so we can try to address some of the issues raised, like inconsistent frames and JSS boards.

Keep it up. Shame on the frame rate issue since it kills my vibe but a patch will fix it!

That's great to hear! People have also been asking for flexible remapping of keys, mandatory replays for top10 scores, and disabling of continues in score attack modes.

Considering that that would involve resurrecting a dead company, folded into its parent company that hasn't shown even the slightest interest in STGs since, yeah that would be winning at everything. Yagawa's games at CAVE are far more likely to see the light of day on Steam (and arguably more useful since they aren't emulated very well yet and the currently-existing ports aren't the best).
NTSC-J:You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too. 1CCs | Twitch | YouTube
Regarding frames, the game runs fine now. Stutters came the first time i switched to fulllscreen. Since the next relaunch the game runs fine. Someone else mentioned fullscreen fixing the framerate issues and i think there´s something to it, i guess the first time it was stuck with the windowed performance and had to reboot the game.
Atleast that´s my experience. The framerate issues were really serious in the missile rushes of the start for example, glad everything´s ok now and i´m really enjoying the game!
I figured out how to replace the music, but have no clue on how to loop it properly without the fade in/out lol. Since you guys may be planning support for the official AST I won't add that one in. Good to finally here the fan made N163 arrange in game though .

It's not the adapter's fault, I've had this since 2004 and it's worked with anything that supports Directinput.
But more importantly, will you be adding online leaderboard support for JSS/CS? Honestly I don't care about Eschatos and this is the third time I've bought it (physical at release, digital at GoD release, and this release). I would have gladly purchased JSS by itself, if I could. But at this point I don't think there's any reason for anyone to purchase this if they already own the 360 port.
I downloaded a replay for the 2nd highest score on the Original Normal leaderboards, and played it... but the player's ship started behaving erratically and died repeatedly when the UFO dropped its purple and yellow crystals. It got a game over and only 3 million points even though the game was supposed to be cleared, and with a far bigger score. I played it again and the same thing happened. I tried the 3rd highest score and the same thing happened but at a different stage.
Strange that no one has complained about this yet. Is it only me?

Downloading other people's replays has an option level requirement to it (and one I've not reached yet) so that might be why people haven't reported it yet. I've got a few hours clocked so far and don't have the ability to download replays yet.

Eschatos definitely supports DirectInput. I've tried a couple of different devices now that aren't xinput, and it's working perfectly fine for me.
Hey guys, do us all a favor and make sure that this review is buried away from the eyes of the unassuming public. I want Ginga Force and Natsuki Chronciles on PC too, and if some dumb casual doesn't buy the game because of the misinformation in this review, I'll rage hard.
Some dude (...?) ran through down voting all the positive reviews on the store page too, this should even the odds, heheheh.

Sadly PC has a possibly huge cheating problem(It's either that or replay desync). Something that was a huge plus on the 360 version was that you knew the scores were legit (obviously not the case for every game, but was the case for Eschatos and the Cave games outside of that silly continue stuff in some of the Cave stuff which tended to have a continue counter anyway so you could ignore those).
It probably isn't too hard for someone to hack their lives to a high number if they wanted to cheat.
Nope, I just tried Ratikal's top score on Original Easy. Ratikal is a legit player that demonstrated Eschatos on STG Weekly.
His replay showed the same behavior as the others where the ship starts to behave erratically at some point.
