I uninstalled it today. There were things that bugged me all the time:
1) difficulty: you feel underpowered ALL THE TIME. I can cope with powering down when hit and stuff, but still, at max power you feel underpowered all the time. And the Hyper Beam feels USELESS.
2) Bosses: they are filled with cheap death attacks, and are VERY difficult to kill (see point one).
3) Controls: you have to tap twice to start the hyper beam. You have to stop moving and tap into the bomb bar to release a bomb (!!!). You have to hit a very small button to finish your character selection... and so on. There are design decisions that i dont understand and makes the game less enjoyable.

Now, i have to admit that i (somewhat) like the graphics... reminds me of some of the classics... and the Jukebox, nice addition.

All in all, its a game that needs some reworking to be enjoyable, at least, for me.

Anyone looking for a nice iOS bullet hell should take a look at Danmaku Unlimited 2. Good controls, nice visuals, and a kick-ass metal soundtrack combine to make my favorite shmup on iOS devices. It's only $4.99, and unlike some of the CAVE bullet hells on iOS, you only need to buy once to play it on both your iPad and iPhone. There is a lite version if you want try it.

Sounds really crap. I really like the colorful visuals though.

For me, the best touch screen Shmups I've played gotta be "Danmaku Unlimited 2"..

The game is just so satisfying..
The controls are tight, one of the best looking art style for Shmups everywhere & music is really blood-pumping, complementing the action on screen!

The bullet grazing is fun..
You can customize your number of barrier, lives, weapon strengths, etc based on your rank too..

It's really an epic experience.. Try it out.. :)

Hi

we are about to launch Twin Shooter: Invaders on iPad, iPhone and Android. One of the ways we get around this is with controller support, we also do it by keeping both starhsips (yes you control 2 at the same time) on the sides of the screen.

Game is out in beta on Canadian and Spanish app stores but let me know if you want a beta access.

If you know of any that are decent, what did you like about them?

I've checked out Sky Force Reloaded and Glandarius Wing Strike so far.

Thanks!

I mentioned this before as well, but the bullet sprites seem to be directly ripped from Dodonpachi, and the "1up" sign next to the player in that screenshot is from Armed Police Batrider, and some of the items use the same sprites as Batrider's 100-point medals and small bomb fragments. And someone else noticed that the stage intro graphic (the thing that says "Stage 1" here) is from Dimahoo/Great Mahou Daisakusen. It's strange considering the game seems to have plenty of high-quality assets not directly ripped from other games (even if their inspiration is pretty obvious in many cases).
