First post, i have been a long time lurker and love shmups. I also love the technical advice i have read on these forums, which has given me more knowledge.
One of those pieces is professional CRT monitors. Until recently i had no idea professional high end crts had such a clearer picture. But you learn something every day.
I currently have a Sony Trinitron kvar21m30 which has composite, s video, and component. I currently use a scart to component adaptor for most of my consoles and get a really nice sharp picture from my saturn, playstation, snes, megadrive. I just use the component for the ps2 for 4:3 non WS games.
Anyways, in pursuit of something better than the kvar21m30 which is 21" i looked at sonys pvms and bvms. In australia however, havent seen many, and got pipped a few times when they went on local classifieds
I have now come across something ive not seen before. A professional CRT VGA monitor. The phillips brilliance 109P4 with 2 inputs - VGA, and one using BNC RGB with H and V for a total of 5 BNC connections.
Being a vga monitor, its running at 31khz, and a quick look on google got me the technical manual which confirms the lowest khz is 31khz. - http://www.manualslib.com/manual/123075 ... e=2#manual
Now this monitor appeals to me for the native VGA input, so i can connect my Dreamcast and a laptop for emulation but also the RGB BNC connectors for the consoles. Say i managed to get this monitor (Its a local so i doubt i would have too much problems) what would i need to do to make consoles work on it?
Any help would be appreciated. If its too much work i can just skip and move on, but the price and dot
Thank you.
