Yeah. I usually just wait a few monthes or so and then revisit these types of games whenever the feel strikes me. The best of them usually have enough twitch elements to remain exciting. For example I returned to Daimakaimura a month ago (having previously 1lc'd it) and found it just as intense as before.

The stage are horrible too, especially when enemies came from all directions and want to crash you.

Cri-Cro WI, this time Unlimited Type-2. Because Type-2 is actually superplayer tier.

That's super weird. That's also means there's still untapped potential!

So my clear of Futari BL Original felt a bit too easy, and I liked how the game played, so I decided to improve my score. Result is utter misery. Hesitating between continuing with scoring practice in the vain hope that I'll start having fun and going for a clear of 1.5.

QP Shooting - Dangerous!! [PC].

Mostly bought this because it comes with a character for 100% Orange Juice.
Actually decent fun, likes to throw bullets at you from every direction instead of just from the top down. Second stage is kind of boring though, although Kyouske is a cool boss.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I haven't touched a game in the last two weeks. I'll be home tomorrow for one day before heading out of town again for a few days.

I'm chomping at the bit to get some time in.
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

After finishing up my 7 month long adventure with the US SNES shmup library I'm finally moving on to some stuff that's entirely different.

The main 2 games I'm playing right now are Strikers 1945 II & Strikers 1945 Plus. The Strikers games are balls hard, but so awesome and they kind of make you feel like a god dodging all those insanely fast patterns. I think 1945 II is the better game but I do appreciate the fact that they made an awesome "port" for the Neo Geo hardware, which is impressive considering the system was released all the way back in 1990.

Been playing a ton of Resogun since getting a PS4. The actual shooting of things is extremely satisfying and the entire experience is loads of fun on a big HDTV.

I've only played the first Strikers. I do like the boss fights, but I feel like Psyiko level design is really...dry. Outside of maybe Dragon Blaze.

I haven't played the first Strikers in years, but I really enjoy part II a lot. Maybe it's a bit of nostalgia goggles or something because that series was one of the first shmups I played back in my early days of discovering mame (~early 2000s). I remember playing it back then and thinking it was just a ridiculous game and completely impossible but also loved all the crazy shit that was going on. I think both Strikers 1945 ii and plus are really good, need to actually fire up part 1 some time and try it out again.

Made it to Parsec 15 with 162,000 earlier tonight on my first -real- attempt at playing Gaplus. I think I've learned the system pretty well, but I'm certain the game holds more surprises for me. I didn't know how to work the corkscrew & assumed I was collecting baddies with a lesser tractor beam. Not so, & then I met my fate shortly after.

A little more SDOJ, today I tried 360 mode for the 1st time in forever.

I made it back to Inbachi on my first credit on three hours of sleep. If I am going to get a Cave clear I think this one is going to be it, I just need a little practice on Hibachi/Inbachi.

Futari BL Original, trying to get a 1cc with Palm (since I already did so with Reco). I can't stop myself from trying to point-blank everything and dying on stage 1.

Haha, SDOJ for first Cave clear, nice going!

I finally got an A-rank on Ikaruga stage 3. Still made mistakes, still not optimal, but progress is being made.

Clearing DDP with 2 credits, stage 5-6 give me some problems. Also playing Progear through stage 4 and dies in the boss, that attack patterns drives me crazy

By sheer coincidence I've been playing this for a little while this week as well, it's one of my favourite games.

It's fun to play when you know what you're doing but I appreciate that if you don't it can all seen a bit random and frustrating to play for score. Getting consecutive perfects and big chains is what it's all about.

I have finally settled on SDOJ Novice Expert for my next clear attempt.

I've just started hitting the 1st score extend in stage 3. It will take some work, but I think I can do it.
