thinking about it, maybe cave volontary used this hardware glitch of the slowdows on the other hand in order to block probable mame emulation of their games.

Maybe? Who knows. It's still sad when you can buy the ports for like $25 and people still just pirate everything.

If nothing gets dumped people whine, and if a $1500 pcb gets dumped people whine. Get some real problems if you want to be a whiner, Jesus.

Just saying. I see so many people say they can't afford the pcbs (which makes sense) but then when the ports are easily available for $25 people all the sudden jump off the "I want to support the developers" bandwagon.

I don't see what's stopping people from buying the X360 port, the iPhone port, and also enjoying the original in emulation. I own the pcb and bought the iPhone port. I don't own an X360.

The purpose of emulation is not "pirate everything".

But it's how most users think of it.

To be fair, I doubt that Microsoft or Cave would have ever intended to make a profit from people breaking terms of services and making a foreign Microsoft account for the sole purpose of downloading a single piece of DLC.

I will concur however that the 360 port region free discs are surprisingly cheap and easy to obtain.

It was just my two cents, not trying to start a huge argument. If people want to mame it up that's fine by me. I guess I'm also opposed to using mame myself partially because a lot of the games I would want to play are currently emulated so poorly, take Ibara for example. Save states sure would be nice for practice though.

Fixed.

But that's not entirely true either. Dumping a game and releasing it publicly are two different things. For the record, I don't really care. I don't use MAME mostly because I'm too lazy to setup a reasonable display for it. It's neat for playing things I haven't seen since I was a kid though. I do laugh at people that act entitled to play games that aren't very old, but without buying them in some form.

Ibara is more than playable though in fact i prefer it with no slowdown, it's kinda like the ps2 port and if archer can destroy that with z scores then its good enough for me.

Did he really use mame?
Last time i checked (mame .155 or .157) Ibara had input lag.
I could reduce it with groovymame's frame_delay setting but then the game ran too slow (sound stutter etc... i5@4GHz)

I had to have Ibara as PCB because of that.
I suck hard at it but at least it is fun now.

No he used both the pcb and the ps2 port. My point was the ps2 port had zero slowdown as it does in mame and is definitely more than playable. Personally my scores between ps2, pcb and mame are all very similar (C's) so i find it hard to believe the average player will be crippled in any particular way enough to warrant not playing it in mame at all outside of personal preferences.

I tried to emulate DFK BL in my laptop using MAME 1.61, and hell it loads amount of lag and buggy sound in all sections and same case as Futari BL.

Maybe my laptop doesn't powerful enough to run these games?

I think that's a pretty obvious no your laptop isn't powerful enough.

It's not "buggy sound," it's the natural consequence of your game not being able to run at full speed, causing the sound to get ahead and having to be artificially slowed down/held back to keep it in sync. So yes, your laptop isn't fast enough. If you really want to make sure, turn on the speed indicator in MAME (F11 by default) and see if it ever drops below 100%.

Incredible. I had no idea 360 emulator was even close to this good.

I visited the dev page for Xenia, and it mentioned that public binaries/.exes are not available to non-developers yet (it also went out of its way to say don't be an idiot and download anything claiming to be Xenia).

Also your OS must be Windows 8.1 or higher.
