Nice, maybe a Raiden V steam release will come as well? After it's released on the Xbox One, of course.

Steam is quickly becoming my go-to place for shmups. This is just one more piece of great news for the platform. :)

I hope all shmup devs jump on board with PC gaming. Qute especially.

It's happening, but I would say slowly. Isn't Ikaruga still the most high-profile release?

No other game has matched its frothing demand.

I am interested in trying out Overkill mode though.

Probably the most high-profile, but according to SteamSpy Astebreed's actually sold more copies so far (not counting Astebreed being available through other distributors too).

Very nice. I will likely purchase this when it hits. Great to see all the shmups that have been coming to Steam.

The one thing that concerns me is the impending Windows 10 update. As it is I'm running a downgrade Windows 7 license on my "mobile workstation" but in order to keep up-to-date with the software tool sets that I have to use I don't think I can do that for much longer. So in order to keep my (relatively cheap) Steam library up and running I may have to get a console-style Win 7 PC (i.e. it may as well be yet another console) ... I'm hoarding enough hardware already. :?
(Win7 seems to be the new WinXP)

It's really nice and warms my heart to see that more STGs shows up on steam nowadays! :D

Looking at steamspy, Jamestown sold even more, with an impressive 600,000 copies sold.

Though Astebreed is hardly a point in Steam's favor, because the PS4 version has arrange mode, updated graphics, new controls, and a gameplay rebalance. Inferior versions, yay.

I was actually just looking into buying a used copy of the 360 version off of Amazon; Guess I'll be holding out for this version instead then :)

I had forgotten to check Jamestown, 600k copies is very impressive for a shmup no matter how you look at it. Also, for what it's worth, Jamestown also has an enhanced PS4 version, though I don't think it's as significant as Astebreed's PS4 enhancements.

Do yourself a favor and look up when the PC version was released.

Wouldn't doubt it. Look what happened to other "exclusives" like Ryse & Dead Rising 3, going to Windows. If they can make it over, surely Raiden V can.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

I really hope Raiden V gets a steam release. That means I don't have to buy a ShitBox One. I hope the PC requirements don't end up being so heavy that my PC won't be able to run it.

Since Raiden III was released on GoG.com I hope Overkill will be released there as well.

Same publisher so there's a decent chance.

Cool. I got Raiden IV: OverKill on PS3 from a code giveaway on UFO Interactive's Twitter account, so I'll definitely buy it on Steam to pay them back for it.

Unfortunately we'll probably be lucky to have any kind of western release whatsoever, so for the time being it would be safer to assume that it will be Xbone exclusive.

Please, please don't fuck this up with DRM, MOSS.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

UFO is pretty much guaranteed to localize Raiden V on console, but it'll be digital only, since they formally ceased releasing physical games years ago.
