Super Star Path

Post by kid aphex »

It's a cross between a puzzler and an STG (my two favorite genres)

Anyone played it?

As if Ikaruga wasn't enough of a puzzle shooter :P

Looks pretty decent. I wish they'd use some less generic retro sound effects, I feel like I've heard those in a million games already. Love the voice acting though.

Note that the trailer's link to a Greenlight page is outdated, the game's already been greenlit and is available for $3 on Steam or itch.io. I never knew that Steam store pages supported animated gifs in their screenshots display...

NTSC-J: You know STGs are in trouble when you have threads on how to introduce them to a wider audience and get more people playing followed by threads on how to get its hardcore fan base to play them, too.

Had played it. Nice graphics and music (the select screen is TOTALLY Thunder Force IV), but the puzzle aspect is not challenging enough, or too much. Elaborate strategies is either a pain, or just a huge mess where sometimes (randomly) you get through. Yeah, I'm not sure in the end, after my incredible 2 hours spent on it. But, it's somehow nice to play, and cheap.
