the PSP is probably the least reliable bit of hardware I've ever owned
love the machine, but it's built like shit
just had to replace the analog stick on mine [was hell, fuck ribbon cables, fuck the 2000's analog stick position, it's shit [the same repair on a 1000 can be done in seconds], fuck the disgustingly low build quality of the machine, it's terribly fragile on a fundamental level]
was just going to turn the stick off in the CFW settings, but Doom Legacy and other homebrew seem to ignore that setting, and I have a few games that depend on the analog stick to be playable
it's the one issue I've seen most on PSPs, it's such a shoddy component
and the way it connects to the PSP is depressing [contact pads with a bit of gel, so sometimes you don't need to replace the stick, just tighten the case since it's the contacts not really touching]
almost mixed up the screen from my dead donor PSP with the working one's screen too, that would have been dumb as hell
