the PSP is probably the least reliable bit of hardware I've ever owned
love the machine, but it's built like shit

just had to replace the analog stick on mine [was hell, fuck ribbon cables, fuck the 2000's analog stick position, it's shit [the same repair on a 1000 can be done in seconds], fuck the disgustingly low build quality of the machine, it's terribly fragile on a fundamental level]

was just going to turn the stick off in the CFW settings, but Doom Legacy and other homebrew seem to ignore that setting, and I have a few games that depend on the analog stick to be playable
it's the one issue I've seen most on PSPs, it's such a shoddy component
and the way it connects to the PSP is depressing [contact pads with a bit of gel, so sometimes you don't need to replace the stick, just tighten the case since it's the contacts not really touching]

almost mixed up the screen from my dead donor PSP with the working one's screen too, that would have been dumb as hell :P
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Heh, I can relate. Awhile ago I had an older psp that my sister used while I had a newer one. One day, when you'd turn on the older one, the inner screen suddenly had a spiderweb of cracks running through it and we couldn't figure out how it got that way.

I don't know where the old one is now, but the newer one is getting finicky now as well.

I fucking hate being interrupted when I'm addressing a group. If I start talking & someone else starts blabbing about something completely different as if I wasn't speaking at all I get infuriated. Happened earlier & my mood has never recovered.

I think everyone has a thing that they can't avoid being pissed off about & thats mine. A close second is being poked in the face when I'm caught off guard. It doesn't matter if the other person was just playing around, I get an instant rush of fury from it.

Hated hearing Cave bgm when playing pcbs in the cab and listening to Soundcloud at the same time.

So I fucking disconnected the speakers in the Egret II.

I've never been happier, and my scores are improving. It is amazing.

Why don't you just turn the sound off using the volume pot?

I didn't think I could do this?
Under the "test switch," "sound volume pot," is the only pot I was aware of controlling the sound on the EII?
When I turn it as far left as it goes it is just at lower volume setting, and right=high volume.

People who cheat on their apparently not so significant others, especially those who ask you to assist in covering for their scumbaggery. I've always had an issue with infidelity. I never thought I would grow up to find that everyone does it. Fuck this world.

In China infidelity is literally a requirement.

Smoking. It is bloody rife in Germany.

They tend to smoke the high tar, instant lung cancer, really stinky variety over here that was banned over in England at the start of the 1980s.

Still they moan about "shocking images" when they tried to put those photos of cancerous hearts, lungs, throats and other organs on the fag packets.

Sadly they fag companies pretty much block all discussions in the media about smoking and cancer over here.

People smoke every where here and often it is impossible to breath clean air.

One day Germany may work it out but many will go down with all sorts of illnesses that are largely completely avoidable.

Then return the gesture for the face. If you do it properly they'll think twice about doing it again.

Probably because the volume pot on the PCB is turned all the way up. You can leave the volume in the cab alone so other games play fine, and just turn the volume pot down/off on your PCBs you don't like.

Thanks Dave! That's awesome. I'll check my pcbs then. I had no idea. Figured of course that the two sh3 boards and 1 pgm/ketsui must have volume pots of their own but embarrassed to say I hadn't thought that all three might be jacked up as well as the reason why I couldn't mute them all via the main EII volume control. :D Thanks again!!!

Yep, all PCBs I can remember have their own volume pots, some more difficult to locate than others. SH3 is no exception. You'll find it way more practical than disconnecting your cab speakers!

Pictures of really expensive PC battlestations, gaming setups or "home theaters" using crappy desktop speakers, soundbars or cheap surround systems. :x

If one is willing to spend serious cash on expensive hardware such as 4K displays, triple screen setups and show-off cases for your PC so that everyone can see you've some fancy stuff in there, why not upgrade the sound while you're at it?

Headphones are becoming increasingly popular lately but it irks me even more seeing a nice headphone on a stand, right next to some old Creative 2.1 system.

When online stores do silly stuff like "price hidden: add to cart/proceed to checkout to see price". I mean, like... what is the purpose? Who the fuck is all like "o gee I wonder what that costs. *click* o wow that's a bit over budget but I've already got this far might as well buy it"? WHO? I guess the same people who actually click all those shady google ads all over the internet or actually reply to those NATURAL MALE ENHANCEMENT spam e-mails.

Never actually heard of that, sounds godawful. At least the ol' "ONE WEIRD TRICK FOR A MONSTER PRICK" / "UROLOGISTS HATE THIS LOCAL DAD" ads can occasionally be amusing!

Yeah, if only because of the 50/50 chance that the image for the ad will have no relevance to anything.

Haha. I've been running as much as I can, and a couple weeks ago just went to get something off the top shelf for somebody. BANG goes the Achilles, felt like.

Speaking of online stores, how about storefronts whose owners are busy updating their Facebook but never acknowledged your order or contact attempts in months?

I can't stop convulsively laughing at the seemingly innumerable Pounded By The Men Who Raised Me series of ebooks, and it's hurting my broken arm every time. There's even a goddamn Best Of anthology. That's quite the array of hot young dudes from diverse backgrounds getting into dodgy situations with (and subsequently being pounded by) the men who raised them. Seems like a winning formula!

Getting a blood sample taken. The lady who was doing it started with my right arm, but couldn't get the vein so she had to switch. She applies the bandage and does the left, which hurt twice as much as the right. Meanwhile the right arm is bleeding because you're supposed to apply pressure to it after the bandage is applied but I couldn't because she was doing my left arm. So after the whole thing is done I'm cross-armed holding both bandages down the entire way home.
