I think it's just people smelling bullshit, really. It's highly likely the revolution emulators won't be as great as the PC ones (PC already has it beat in terms of resolution and netplay right off the bat, as far as NES and SNES go at least, and I doubt they'll implement the improvements emu's have over the original consoles (eg savestates), which are the reasons to emulate anyways) and there's the limited library, most of the best games for NES and SNES are missing from that list.
Many NES games aren't meant to be played with savestates, but the games in the classic NES series that did have passwords offered saving. If the game had a saving option, it would most likely be saved to memory card. IMO, savestates are a non-issue.
It's doubtless you'll buy a Revolution and tout that they're worse, but not that much worse, anyways. Just like ya did with the SNES World Warrior port and anything else Nintendo related someone else might remotely consider mediocre.
I'm not trying to attack you, but I think you lack perspective. Good videogames exist outside of Nintendo consoles. May I recommend a Japanese Saturn or PSX.
You may not be trying to attack me, but you are insulting me anyway by making untrue assumptions about me.
I never said that the SNES World Warrior was the best version or anything close to that. All I said was that it was a good port (And I didn't say it becuase it was on SNES either. I would have said the same thing no matter what system it was on. It's definatly worlds better than the Amiga, C64, and older PC version of it, though the PSX, Saturn, arcade, and PS2 ones blow it out of the water).
BTW,
I have the Genesis version of Street Fighter II Special Champion Edition and I already said countless times that I like it better than Turbo for SNES (which I already like better than WW). I even initially traded in the SNES Turbo becuase the Genesis one is the same game only better. I only got the SNES one again becuase I found it for dirt cheap (like 25 or 50 cents cheap).
I have an import disc for PSX and a couple of imports, so please stop talking to me like I don't even own a 2600 (which I do own BTW). BTW,
I have a PS2, a PSX, a Dreamcast, a TG-16, and tons other non-Nintendo systems. Please stop making ignorant assumptions about me.
BTW, I think savestates are just as unnecessary for other systems too, not just NES. I didn't even make any comments about emulation quality and just talked about save states, but you still accuse me of not playing PSX imports (haven't you even read any of the millions of topics where I talked about Twinbee Yahho or Detana Twinbee? Guess which system I have them for?). I don't really expect the revolution emulation to be on par with PC, but I'm not expecting crappy emulation either. However, I'm not thrilled with the pricing system shown in the servey and I hope it's not final. Most of the games on the list, I have. S&P is the main one I'm interested in and I might just get it for N64 (and if I get a Revolution, it would be for new games anyway). All I commented on was the savestates and you didn't reply to me, you just replied
at me and told me to play games on non-Nintendo systems, despite all the times I stated that I already do so.
