I'd say I'm about 75% introvert - I don't mind social activities, but I don't always go out of my way to seek them.
That test most employers ask their staff to do backs up my feeling on that, as well. http://psychologytoday.tests.psychtests ... gTest=1311

EDIT: Make that around 65% introvert.

One of the most vile things I've ever witnessed from another human being was back when I used to hang out with a bunch of cunts I grew up with from school and streets across town. There used to be this guy called Dobby who was a bit of a mong and Dobby was 'allowed' to hang out with us, I was always up front with Dobby in that I didn't like the guy at all, but all these guys ever did was use him for entertainment (they'd be the sort of guys who'd label most of you faggots or pussies or queers and try to bully you - I don't even know why I hung around with them, the fear of being perceived as someone with no friends I suppose)
they'd pick on him and make fun of him in company and behind his back and then Dobby got diagnosed with a brain tumour and died, these cunts who spent almost a decade letting him think he had friends used his death for free attention and milked that sympathy shit for all it was worth. It was around that time I figured out these people are actually most likely mentally ill or at least right on the borderline of psychopathy and so I started distancing myself from them. I started going out with a new girl and disappeared with her for a while and just never went back to my 'friends'. I've been pretty much solo going from one woman to another for the past couple of decades and tbh that's just how I like it. It seems to me at least that what I perceived to be mental illness is actually normal behaviour for men, I want no part of that. It's just fucking horrible. I'm at a point in my life now where I've become very George Carlin-esque and hold almost a complete disdain for the majority of my own species, I'd happily see most of it wiped out, even if that has to include me. They're just too far gone, too irrational, lost in ego and material. Life could be so amazing, but this is what we seem to have been reduced to. Largely retarded and incapable of reason where the least among us are pandered to rather than just gotten rid of. I fucking hate it. In Britain now we have TV shows about people watching TV, it's as though modern life is a Chris Morris satire from the 90's. It's like Idiocracy.

^^^ I guess it depends on where you live, and who you have the misfortune of running into.

Most of the people in my life are pretty caring individuals. And I've never encountered bullying or anything like that. Then again, me and my friends/family generally avoid places where people like that would be likely to hang out.

The majority of people I've known are lying, duplicitous, two faced manipulative hypocrites who spout their own propaganda about how virtuous they are and contradict themselves at every available opportunity. Even my own sister is a cunt.

Well come to think of it, I guess I know a few people like that, who have been close to my family. Still, 3/10 ain't a bad statistic.

I suppose one could attempt to apply sturgeon's law to people, but I'd actually be a bit more generous then that. A bit, heh.

No.

In fact if any of you are in NYC for whatever reason hit me up. We will get drunk and play games. We can get stoned too if that's your thing.

I promise not to kill you and turn you into a lampshade. :D
You're sure to be in a fine haze about now, but don't think too hard about all of this. Just go out and kill a few beasts. It's for your own good. You know, it's just what hunters do! You'll get used to it.

I tend to see society two ways.

1) Self serving borderline sociopaths that only care about themselves or their immediate family. These people tend to get ahead in the world, they are your managers, CEO's, business owners, politicians, etc... Now this isn't to say that if you are successful then you are automatically like this. However, our current societal system is a reflection of those that govern it. I think most of these people aren't intentionally like this, but rather are programmed by tv, education, etc, that everything in life is a competition and its a 'dog eat dog' world, and are sadly too ignorant to see it. This is certainly the lens I saw the world through for many years. I certainly acted horribly to some people who didn't deserve it.

2) People who have broken out of the media-programming and think for themselves, you can have deep conversations with these people about nearly anything. They tend to care deeply about their fellow man, even strangers, as they don't see life as a competition, but rather mankind as a special species that needs help, needs to be better. These people tend to view money as a means to an end, they don't view the accumulation of material things as the only goal in life, they tend to be content, and that inner contentment is generally very evident from the outside. They tend not to be riddled with the insecurities of the masses, which often leads to the 'men behaving badly' thing you so often see in modern society. Life is a bid dick-swinging competition to people who are insecure.

My experience is that #2 tends to be about 30% of the general population, there are way more of them out there than you think. If you are in camp #2, you can often feel pretty alone and often wonder if anyone else thinks along similar lines as you. Trust me its not that way, engage people in conversation, speak with them, not at them, look them in the eye, pay attention to what they say back, and you'll find many #2's out there.

Jesus, where in England is all that the norm? I've lived in the East and South East, have friends up North and in London. And it's been easy not to associate with arseholes.

Anyway, introverted isn't the same as antisocial so the title is a bit odd.

I was group one until I took mushrooms and defected to group two, unfortunately the people I hung around with had a similar experience, but didn't carry anything they learned, and remained with group one.

Those two groups don't seem mutually exclusive to me, and are way too specific to even encompass a majority of people... Frankly if a person seems to fall cleanly into one of those groups, you probably haven't gotten to know them very well.

You're right, I was just trying to describe the type of person each of those categories could be, not necessarily how they all are. It wasn't mean to be an absolute statement.

Let me clarify.

2 kinds of people:
1) Victim of societal programming
2) Broken free of societal programming

or to use the Matrix Allegory... blue pill and red pill people.

I don't know if I'd call the former group "victims," as it's perfectly possible to choose to take the blue pill even if explicitly offered the choice between red and blue, and I can't blame someone for preferring a "dog-eat-dog" society, mainstream media, etc., even if I don't necessarily agree with them. Besides, they probably have their own very different ideas about what ideals the red pill and blue pill represent. To some, being a self-serving sociopath is exactly how they affirm they're thinking for themselves and making their own choices. What's important is that your choices are your own, but even then it's unreasonable for people to think hard about every choice they make, and different people will have different priorities over what they want to go "red pill" for.

And for the sake of the thread topic, I'm terribly anti-social. I like to think it's because of a lack of common interests (like shmups) with those around me, but if I'm honest with myself it's really my own fault.

I would argue that many people out there don't know that there's a choice between the blue and red pills.

I took the Psychology today test and it sounds like I'm right down the middle... like spending time by myself and with others, in balance, which is how I generally feel, I have some friends, not many acquaintances and I like my alone time, and I like being with my friends too. Seems to work for me.
