Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
Dangun was delayed slightly because Stunfest is behind schedule; we're waiting on a Super Metroid speedrun, which will hopefully be done shortly. About 15-20 minutes at most from now, I would think.
Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
I see that it is the same as last year. Be sure that the last player checks out with management regularly so they don't experience the shitfest that me, Yom and Rechiku had to go through last year!
Good job on the AK stream. Gonna try to catch the rest of the plays.

Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
Some news.
First, we have local recordings of the streams, which we will probably be uploading to youtube directly instead of exporting from Twitch. Slightly better quality is the goal here.
Huge thanks to owlnonymous for those links -- did it without even being asked, really makes my life easier.
As far as more streams tonight: it's not going to happen. Tomorrow night I will try to get streaming from the small stage working, but there are just too many logistical issues to make it feasible right now. Plus I'm exhausted from working on stream stuff all day; it would be nice to be able to actually *play* some games.
What I will do is record video footage of the run tonight; we can add commentary in post if we want (although I'm not sure that's worth the effort considering the main stage run tomorrow) and upload to youtube.
We will have the Batrider and Dragon Blaze runs tomorrow as scheduled, and as mentioned above I will do my best to get something working from the smaller stage as well.

Relax, play some games, capture what you can. Thanks for the streams. Yom and Jaimers runs were the tits! Really looking forward to Aquas_ on Batrider.Softdrink 117 wrote: We will have the Batrider and Dragon Blaze runs tomorrow as scheduled, and as mentioned above I will do my best to get something working from the smaller stage as well.

You left off a digit in the Akai Katana URL, it should be http://www.twitch.tv/stgweekly/v/5308513owlnonymous wrote:Archived runs so far.

Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
So, an update about the small side-stage streaming situation, and a picdump:
The decision not to stream from the smaller stage turned out to be a very good one indeed... suffice to say that there were a LOT of technical difficulties, and Aquas' Batrider play there was delayed by over an hour because of it. In the end, it was neither streamed nor recorded locally; the only record is video footage that I shot and an .inp file we saved.
I don't really want to go into everything that went wrong but let's just say adding our own stream gear into the mix would have made things even worse, without doubt.
We'll try again tomorrow, but I am not terribly optimistic about the chances of getting any streams from that area. It's kind of a mess.
Anyways, here are some shots from today... have quite a few more left to sort through but these should set the mood. Also have quite a lot of video content too, which is pretty cool. Will try to make something neat out of it.

HUmar.

The line leading in from our position. Pretty sizeable; there was about triple this length behind us. Moved relatively fast once they opened up though.

A quick shot of the right corner of the stream area...

...and an explanation of what's going on. Not pictured: another monitor for the Stunfest team off to the right. Their setup was amazing.

Another part of the streaming area. Lots of FTG streames (including ARMSHOUSE, not pictured -- James is a really nice guy; we chatted quite a bit throughout the day) to the left of the STG Weekly setup.

A few shots of the cabs in the STG section. There were quite a few more that I haven't worked with yet. Very busy all the time -- really awesome to see players trade off and show off their skills.

There was a big Touhou setup downstairs, among lots of other setups. I have lots of other pics from downstairs but haven't had time to sort through them yet. HUGE number and variety of games, so much cool stuff.

OMG I see a girl in the last picture! I think I am in love...
Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
I’ve enjoyed the fantastic broadcasts of Jaimers' Dangun Feveron, Yom’s Akai Katana, Erppo’s DFK-BL, and most of all Aquas' Batrider +G score!!! Unbelievable stuff guys, truly amazing how you can bring that skill to a live stage and give it one attempt to show what you got.
Also to thank: Softdrink and Aquas for their great commentary, Plasmo and Icarus for their appearance and comments on the Batrider run, SL for translating (and his buddies for getting STGW situated enough to stream), Frenetic for loaning the equipment, everyone in chat showing support for the players... and most of all system11 for keeping the community strong and focussed on what makes this a fun hobby with so many interesting people from all over the world.

Every run this year has been fantastic; I was so tense watching Feveron and Batrider. I love it.
Really looking forward to day three. Great work so far!

Haven't watched the other demos yet, but Jaimers' Dangun Feveron play was excellent.

Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
Hey everyone! Keep a lookout on our Twitter/Facebook and in #shmups irc for updates about when we are going live today!
Stunfest seems to be very slightly behind so I can't give a proper estimate, but we should be live with Eschatos within about an hour. Erppo's DFK BL will be a bit later.
UPDATE: Got some recent info about the schedule. Eschatos will be starting in about 40 minutes; we will begin streaming it in about 25-30 minutes. DFKBL will begin about 4 hours from now; I will update with more info about the stream start at that time.

I'm back home now, I hope everybody is having a safe trip home.
I'll make it quick because i'm pretty bad at writing my feelings on forums
Was nice to meet you all guys, even thou we didn't speak too much, as I was running between the comments on stage, taking care of PCB with Rafik and of course playing some stuff...
Congratulation to all players for their perfomances on stage or simply on the cabs. Erppo with an Hibachi clear
, Jaimers your runs on Dangun was fucking amazing
- also was great that SoftDrink and Aquas was convering the event from their tiny ghetto set up, it's great what you are doing for the shmup world guys ! I missed Ratikal run on main stage on sunday
Sadly I could not do my Futari run on Sunday as the train left a 5pm, when I was supposed to play.....
See you around next time !

Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
Was hoping to watch some of these live but things didn't pan out on my end, only caught the Dangun Feveron run briefly (and my connection sucked). Just watched the STGWeekly AK vid, very nice, going to be checking out the rest this week!
Re: STUNFEST 2015 Repository
Hello guys from outer space (I mean, from outside the borders of France). Despite the technical and schedule issues, I had a very good time with all of you. Your skill is great, and it's always a pleasure to chat about shmups with gentlemens.
I made a report with my impressions on our french forum, I may translate it if you want. In the mean time, you can admire my awesome photo shooting skills : http://forum.shmup.com/viewtopic.php?p=487375#p487375
Hope the way back trip was allright. I will try to come to a London shmupmeet in the future. It's not fair you guys are the only one to travel long distances.

Holy Crap! What an amazing set of runs. Big thanks Softdrink, Aquas_, IcarausFW, and to all the runners from Stunfest 2015. All the runs are archived on STG Weekly's twitch, which I linked below, and I think will be uploaded to YouTube with slightly higher quality.

To give it a number, they were talking about 11k visitors at the ending ceremony. At least 5k of them were Batrider fans.DEL wrote:TheOldMills wrote:In terms of the Grand Scene big screen, over 300 Goths can fit into the seating. That projection screen looks massive.
