Red medal chain of fate: A Yagawa VN (interest gauging poll)

Post by cave hermit »

So inspiration suddenly struck me this morning, and I've decided to take my devotion to Based YGW to the next level: by making a full-blown visual novel about pursuing him and finding true love with Him: It would be called "Red medal chain of fate".

This won't be a 5 minute one-note joke, this will be a fairly thought out, well written choose your own adventure style VN with a number of different endings. I doubt that I would make each story branch very long, but I'd like to add a good number of branches to add replay value. While I feel that I'm a fairly good writer, don't expect too much in the art department beyond various MS paint edited Yagawa faces.

Obviously this would be freeware.

With all this in mind, before I actually put in the effort to make this, I'd like to know if people would actually be interested in playing it.

Will I have to commit suicide to get the best endings?

Are you going to use Ren'Py? Recently TyranoBuilder was released and I heard it makes VNs a lot easier to make - no coding required. It's not free though, but give it a look and see if it suits your needs.

And yeah, I'd give your VN a look - if only to see what kind of madness it'd come out of this

If you don't trust your own artistic sensitiveness, get an art director. Those are not called "visual" for nothing.

If you can work Bakraid chaining and medaling into it, I'm in as well.

Do you really think I'll be making a Yagawa VN without including lewd scenes filled with Garegga/Pink sweet euphemisms?

You will not be disappointed on that front.

I'm not a big VN guy, but methinks this one would be something of a Hatoful Boyfriend for shmuppers - so nuts you have to at least give it a try.

Actually that's mainly what I'm thinking of doing with this project: I'm thinking of doing something that will deconstruct and lampshade the whole Yagawa meme, only to reconstruct it later, and then maybe deconstruct it again!

Hell, maybe I'll even have it so you can choose to play the game from either a separate protagonist's perspective, or from Yagawa's perspective!

Since there does seem to be enough interest in this, I'll be starting development probably some time next month when my semester ends!

Good job on finding TyranoBuilder Ruldra. cave hermit, the F-man would sponsor the cost of TyranoBuilder--it seems pretty drag and drop to use. I'd also do my best to promote it lol. Let me know when your semester ends and let's make this happen!

I love visual novels, am excited what a humorous Yagawa VN would be like.

Is there anyone here that can make graphical assets like characters/ships, etc.?
