Have you tried Shorty (C) or (B) solo in advance course? She can hose everything with just 1 single option-up, while keeping rank low (I didn’t medal or pickup extra Power&Options until after the highway).

It is kinda funny how high experience can go just due to one tiny little thing that you're not even necessarily aiming for. Before my last couple of runs before my first 1cc I never got more than maybe 1.3 mill by the end of stage 3, then all of a sudden without even really noticing it I figured out how to bridge the gaps, and by the first 1cc I got 1.6m by the end of the stage.

I bought Crimzon Clover: World Ignition off GoG.com but I haven't been able to clear it yet. I tried out Ver. 1.01 to see what Simple mode was like, but Original even there was giving me a really rough time. However, after several very painful attempts:



I had maxed out my lives going into stage 5 and I ended up losing so many of them to the final boss and TLB that it made me want to cry. Holy crap does it ever get insane when you jack the break rate up. Very satisfying 1CC. Going back to World Ignition and seeing if I can make any progress on Boost Mode. I seem to get way too greedy with staying in Break mode and not bombing.

Doesn't Rate affect rank in Original? Hm. Maybe I'm confusing it with the rank in Simple mode or the timer in Boost.

I did it, I officially earned a 1-all in an arcade shmup! That was a dream of mine for at least a couple of years, and it's a great way to start off the new year.

This is correct; Original's only rank implementation is increased bullet speed and firing rate when in Break and Double Break.

Also, not much of a triumph (since it was just a few credits a day over a few days), but I also got a DFK 1.5 clear this morning (I used B, though)

Heh, my strategy for that stage was "get there with a bunch of lives in reserve, bomb the last set of wheels like crazy". I actually didn't think the run where I got the clear was going to be successful, since I only made it there with three lives left; I was on my last life and had no bombs or hyper left when I got the boss kill.

Some backstory:
All stages is not a route that is normally available in DBAC:EX, hence why this is the world's first. trap15, alamone, myself, and several others have been working on a release of DBAC:EX for consumer PCs; while experimenting with event data, trap15 managed to make a custom event mode which has an "all stages" route (think Darius Gaiden Extra), since that was a feature conspicuously absent from the main game. He's currently working on an EX-All and an A-Z as well (although I'm terrible at EX right now hahaha).

Anyways, this was totally fantastic to play. One of the most awesome 1CCs I've yet gotten, even if it wasn't an official, arcade-supported mode. Huge thanks to trap for making this real. And all of this on the same day as the INSANE Wasshoi runs and the incredible time I had restreaming with Icarus, trap15, Emuser, et al -- what a day! Thanks guys!

I also stream it sometimes, no troll. Basically think the TypeX hacks, but actually good. The goal is to make it polished to where it's almost like a regular PC game, and it's almost there. Release isn't exactly close though, still some months down the line.

about fucking time, game is annoying as hell to clear with type I even on original

had a run before where I got to the final boss with just 1 miss, then I managed to die 4 times on st5 boss and tlb1 and game overed on the first pattern of tlb2
this time died twice on st5, once to tlb1 in a dumb way, then once on tlb2 and no missed the final pattern

..oh, I also tried out Exceed 3rd last night for Death Roulette.. got the 1cc on my first ever cred. *ego inflates* Though it definitely isn't the hardest shooter and I was bombing a helluvalot just to up my stage count for Death Roulette, got me in the zone i guess.
Awesome game, much better than the other two exceeds which are arse gravy.

I honestly don't really like this game but I thought I'd put a few credits into clearing it since I got to the Stage 5 boss several times by flailing all over the place. Funnily enough I had a whole extra life to spare, and I'm not sure where I did so much better than usual.

Out of curiosity, is Eri your usual character choice? I toyed with using Fio for Missions 1-4 so I wouldn't have to lose my more familiar Marco for the much harder endgame. As cool as it is that the whole quartet gets involved in the finale (in 2P mode), I always found it a slight annoyance having to adjust to a different character's animations for the hardest part of the run. Then again Mission 5 will get printed onto your brain circuitry either way.
