Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
Check your list of processes and make sure really everything is down. Just because there are no other open applications that run in their own window doesn't mean that nothing else is active. It seems that some other program is hitting your CPU in irregular intervals, thus causing the drop in fps.
Also, make sure you reallly meet the minimum requirements, because this game certainly doesn't run on a Dorito. ;P

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
What I usually do is set the priority of the game's process to Very High in Task Manager, this helps a lot with the Steam version of Ikaruga if it goes jerky.
No idea why games don't just do this automatically, or have a setting for it, I don't need for Chrome to waste CPU time playing back "deal with it" animated gifs or whatever it's doing when I'm playing a fullscreen game.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
I did quite a bit of testing with Task Manager for applications when I still had access to a multitude of machines. From my experience, altering process priority with Task Manager fucks with the overall prioritisation of the system so it's bad jujus to force it from anywhere other than Task Manager itself. You can sometimes get away with it without issue but more often than not I find it leads to input polling issues, Explorer crashes and the occasional complete system freeze.ciox wrote:What I usually do is set the priority of the game's process to Very High in Task Manager, this helps a lot with the Steam version of Ikaruga if it goes jerky.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
Well that would be an explanation. If you're an user and want to automate something like that I guess your only option is weird AutoHotkey scripts since priority isn't remembered in any way.

Price is still tentative, since it's up to Yotsubane's decision. I would be very surprised if it was more than the price of the game, though.

I'm actually quite hype for this dlc. Superplay demos and strats! Can't go wrong with more music either.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
I just ran into the 57 fps bug --- restated the computer, fixed.
Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
I have a question you guys probably don't want to answer.
I've played shooters casually over the years. I have about 30 hours into this one. I can clear Novice Original and I made it to the stage 3 boss after a few tries with Arcade Original using the Type-Z ship.
If I wanted to clear Arcade Original with Type-Z, what would you estimate the time commitment to be given my current experience level? Obviously this is different for everyone, but I'm trying to figure out if it's achieveable with, say, 10 hours of dedicated practice in training mode, or if I might be on the hook for 40 or 50 hours of play before I clear it.
I'm trying to decide where to slot this into my backlog. Thanks for humoring me.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
Arcade's much, much harder than Novice. I cleared Novice Original on my first or second try and I can usually no-miss or one-miss it now, but a hundred hours in I still haven't gotten further than the beginning of Stage 5. You can likely do it in less time if you train systematically unlike me (I'm currently focusing on clearing a couple other games first), but chances are it's going to take a while.
For what it's worth, Steam achievements stats say that 8.8% have cleared Novice Original while 0.6% have cleared Arcade Original.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
It will certainly take you more than 10 hours. You can have a look at the online leaderboards for Type-Z in Arcade mode. It's quite sobering.Tim James wrote: If I wanted to clear Arcade Original with Type-Z, what would you estimate the time commitment to be given my current experience level? Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
I cleared the game after months.
Intensive plays, but no real training, just runs, restarts, runs etc.... But I play for scores mostly. Which takes more time I guess as a lot more risks are needed.
I would say, depending on your experience and skills and more important, depending on if you want to score (lots of risks) or just survive (bombing a lot), something between 50 and 500 hours

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
This is great feedback, thanks. I will leave it for later when I have more time and just make some casual runs when the DLC comes out.
FWIW, I did get MASTER++ in Time Attack, which also has a 0.6% achievement rate. But the iteration time is 3 minutes as opposed to 40+ minutes.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
It really depends on how hard to play for score, how focused you are in practice, etc. I've been playing for like 80 hours at this point and I still haven't cleared Arcade, but I came into this game with a lot less experience in the shmup genre than most folks here. I would be very surprised if anyone other than a superplayer could sit down with CC and clear Arcade in 10 hours of play.
Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
It just suddenly comes to my mind, that I may be able to make proper simplified Chinese translation for the game, is that possible? And if it is, how can I do this?

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
I Cleared original arcade with type z after something like 25 hours of play.
it really depends if you play for score like S.L said.
i think "training" mode is useless to clear the game, or just maybe you may want to use it for ex boss 1 and 2

That would be really cool. If something like that is possible I wouldn't mind helping with an Italian version.x91 wrote:It just suddenly comes to my mind, that I may be able to make proper simplified Chinese translation for the game, is that possible? And if it is, how can I do this?

Wait I think I saw Italiano in the language option of System Settings menuendoKarb wrote:That would be really cool. If something like that is possible I wouldn't mind helping with an Italian version.

No surprise, the shops says "italian" among the available languages. Please let the italian users to fix the grammar of the words, like "destrat(right)", as terms like "laser auto-guidati "(homing) are questionable but all right for a tecnical menu.x91 wrote:Wait I think I saw Italiano in the language option of System Settings menuendoKarb wrote:That would be really cool. Also, when v1.05 on GOG?

I thought we were talking about the commented replay pack that was supposed to come out.

I think GOG's still on 1.03, though, so I'd like to see that get updated someday.

I heard that Degica want to wait the release of 1.05 instead of releasing the 1.04 update.Shepardus wrote:I think GOG's still on 1.03, though, so I'd like to see that get updated someday.

Why are those stats so low?Shepardus wrote:For what it's worth, Steam achievements stats say that 8.8% have cleared Novice Original while 0.6% have cleared Arcade Original.
Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
There are probably a lot of people who bought the game, possibly through a bundle, and never played it. Happens a lot to other games too, some games have achievements for simply starting up the game and even those have surprisingly low percentages.

Re: Crimzon Clover: World Ignition Announced at Stunfest
According to Steam Spy, 36,589 people own the game. 0.6% of them having the achievement means that around 220 people have cleared it. Honestly, that number could be a lot worse.
Too bad there's no way to see how many of them used Type Z.
