Ah, of course!
Oh, I absolute hate Kirby's Dream course and some of the mad bonus items there. Played it with Dragoforce from here, and after a couple of undeserved losses I can objectively say- game is broken!

Not an arcade title, but the golf game on Wii Sports Resort is pretty damn fun. Has a really good aim and stroke mechanic when swinging the wii-mote, and has a good balance between skill and accessibility. It feels like the most intuitive golf game, for those who actually play IRL.

I enjoy Ninja Golf, but I don't really give a crap about golf.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

Re: The Arcade Golf Games Thread
Neo Turf Masters is probably my favorite. I'd have liked to see SNK make a NTM2 on the Taito Type X series, with a chase view of the ball after it's hit.
It's awesome how the golfer sinks a tee shot in NTM's intro. The Japan and Arizona course BGMs rock.
Two arcade-style golf games on console I also like: Power Golf (TG16) & Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf (Genesis, AKA Naomichi Ozaki no Super Masters on Japanese MD). Like NTM, which is IMO the gold standard, they have that quick "jump right in" feel. Unfortunately, in these two the club yardages are not shown onscreen, so you need to refer to a FAQ or the manual. NTM does save you from having to do that.
Devil's Course on MD looks decent for what it tries to do, but would probably be better played in an emulator with a 20 MHz 68k. Good BGM though.

Kinect? KIN NOT.

That one also has a counterpart on other systems like Saturn and 3D0. Most US versions are named Wicked 18, but the US Saturn version is called Velora Valley Golf. The versions on more powerful hardware probably have a better framerate, but I'm curious how they compare. I'm also pretty sure the Genesis/MD Pebble Beach Golf Links uses the same engine as the MD Devil's Course.gameoverDude wrote: Devil's Course on MD looks decent for what it tries to do, but would probably be better played in an emulator with a 20 MHz 68k. I have a golden tee 98 pcb that works. I bought it because I used to play GT98 at the bowling alley by my house in the early 2000s.
Its fun enough. a bit repetitive but fun.

Is the Major Title series worth bothering with? They look like the Gunforce to Neo Turf Master's Metal Slug.

Tadaaah.

I wonder if a DualShock will do for analogue controls.
(setting ups anything analogue in MAME is such a delicate thing...)
