QP shooting dangerous now available on steam

Apparently this is a localization of a doujin game that has been out for awhile now, but regardless it's now available for purchase on steam!
Is it any good? Apparently this isn't the first STG orange_juice has developed.

This game is terrible. I have demo copies up on my site that you can download, and I don't believe I've ever sold a single copy. Good luck to Steam, but you're not winning people over putting out crap like this.

The video on Steam didn't make it look that bad. What's the big issue with it?

The only thing I don't like is the music that sounds too much like generic MIDI .. other than that, looks good.

it uses a bunch of stock bgms, some of which do sound like general midi, some of which definitely don't. the song throughout the second video and at the end of the first video may be familiar to you as kaikan's stage 2 boss theme, and it doesn't even remotely sound like general midi. it's also completely inappropriate for kawaii-uguu-ge, unless the whole game was like that

Might be an misunderstanding, it seems rancor talked about the first game "QP shooting" which isn't localized or even fantranslated.

The sequel is called "QP Shooting -Dangerous!!".
By the way, it's included in the Coffee Bean bundle for the next 5 days, just bought it myself.

For anyone interested, a Christmas-themed followup called "Xmas Shooting: Scramble!" just came out; if you snag it directly from the localizer you get both a direct download and a Steam key. One neat feature is the ability to import the extra option formations you unlocked in QP Shooting, even in the DRM-free version.
