im not sure i understand about chaining, could you explain please mate?

ive seen a quick shot kill with a multiplier but i cant see how on any level this can be kept up for long, unless there is a knack to it of course

You notice that when you get a little bonus - Quick Shot! Destroyed At A Time! Discovered The Miclus! and so on - a little prompt will appear at the top of the screen. You will increment a chain multiplier as long as one is still on screen when you get your next bonus up to a maximum of 9x.

Luckily it's very short... what I do is stock bombs in the battleship level (Stage 40 I think?), the boss of that level is easy enough that you won't need to use any, so you'll have a full stock on Phase 1. Then, during Phase 1 I will use a bomb almost every time I see a large gunship (there's like 4 of them I think).

The smaller jets that swoop in quickly are annoying; what I do is completely ignore the screen except for their bullets, so I can focus on dodging 100%. Towards the end they come down really bad, and I'll miss shooting half of them and lose my medal chain (because of focusing on dodging), but at least I'll be alive. Essentially you never want to be directly beneath them... kill them with wide-range bullets and stay moving.

At least, that's my imperfect strategy.
