Nice to know. Not sure if I'll bite, but Esper and me are discussing the viability of putting our translation patch into it, just for kicks.
Hopefully it HAS the story mode...

Well, II and III are bound to follow if this sells...
Also, this is easily the toughest game(and is the only one with the power up system), so there's that.

I agree, but maybe it's a start.

The point is that all the Cave and Taito iOS releases (etc.) would be far more enjoyable with a physical controller. Apple introduced the MFi controller spec last year with iOS 7 - yet again this new release ignores it.

^^This, all day.
There are awesome games on iOS, some of which cost big money for the discs (Raiden Fighters? The only DFK version with English voicework?!). The experience of playing them with a fat finger is pretty miserable.
Is there no way to encourage the developers to add support for a real controller?

I think Shiki 2 has the best music, but 1's is nice too. (And 2 has 1's remixes!)

I think I remember playing the Raiden Fighters iOS release with an iCade. Not that it really has anything to do with the MFi situation, but it was better than nothing. I got sick of hoping/waiting for Cave to add icade support for their games.
I think the finger control in the Cave games has its place. It's kinda fun to fast-finger auto-bomb your way through them, but it feels like it's too easy and kinda cheating at the end of the day. Adding support for a controller would make them great packages overall.
